Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)

This is a Stanford Health Care job.

As a Space Planner within the Facilities Planning & Design (FPD) business unit at Stanford Health Care Facilities Services, you will play a critical role in shaping and optimizing the environments that support patient care, clinical operations, and administrative functions across the organization. Acting as both a strategic consultant and project manager, you'll partner with department leaders, clinicians, facilities teams, and executive stakeholders to evaluate space needs, analyze utilization, and develop creative solutions that align with operational goals, growth initiatives, and organizational priorities. This position requires a strong balance of analytical thinking, relationship management, and project coordination, as you'll be responsible for guiding space planning projects from initial request through implementation while navigating competing priorities and building consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges and influencing decisions that have a visible impact across a large healthcare system. You'll manage multiple space planning initiatives simultaneously, conduct assessments and feasibility analyses, develop recommendations, present solutions to leadership, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of healthcare environments and organizational functions, making it well suited for professionals with backgrounds in healthcare planning, architecture, interior design, facilities management, construction, or project management who are passionate about creating functional, efficient, and thoughtfully designed spaces that support Stanford Health Care's mission and future growth.

The Facilities Planning & Design (FPD) business unit leads the planning, design, and improvement of Stanford Health Care’s spaces to advance excellence in care, innovation, and experience. With expertise across Planning, Design, Land Use & Licensing, Art, Wayfinding, Signage, and Facilities Administration, FPD turns vision into reality, creating functional, compliant, and inspiring environments aligned with Stanford Medicine’s mission.

A Brief Overview

The role ensures timely communication, accurate documentation, and coordination across departments to support safe, efficient, and standards‑driven test fits.
