Description
Position: Product Engineer Voice AI
Remote working policy: Fully on-site in Berlin, Germany
Employment type: Full-time
Salary guide: €85,000–€160,000 annually, depending on experience, plus equity
Relocation support is available. Visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional candidates.
About the company:
Our client is a venture-backed AI company helping businesses build, deploy and improve customer-facing voice agents. Its platform tackles a familiar problem: long queues, rigid phone menus and customers having to explain themselves repeatedly.
The team builds software that enables natural conversations and helps businesses turn those conversations into useful outcomes. You’ll join a small engineering team working closely together in Berlin, with direct involvement in the product’s development.
About the role:
If you enjoy deciding what should be built as much as writing the code, this role gives you room to do both.
There are no dedicated product managers. You’ll take features from the initial customer problem through product decisions, implementation, deployment and improvement. You’ll decide where to invest effort, what to leave out and when a solution is ready to ship.
This suits a hands-on engineer who wants greater product influence, enjoys working independently and takes satisfaction in seeing customers use something they built. Previous product management experience can be useful, provided you remain an active engineer who ships production code.
What you’ll get to build and influence:
- Own features across the full product lifecycle, from identifying the problem to improving the live solution
- Make product and technical decisions with a direct connection to customer needs
- Build across the stack, working with TypeScript and Python
- Help businesses deploy and manage AI voice agents in real customer workflows
- Use AI tools throughout your engineering workflow to experiment and deliver faster
- Work closely with other engineers, including pairing to solve problems
- See the impact of your individual contribution on both the product and the business
What we’re looking for:
- Strong hands-on software engineering skills and evidence of shipping production software
- Full-stack capability, with the ability to work beyond a narrowly defined technical area
- Experience owning a feature or product from initial problem through delivery
- Previous experience in a fast-moving startup environment
- Evidence of independent initiative: a useful side project, a business, an early-stage product or another venture that reached real users
- Practical judgement when balancing technical complexity, delivery speed and customer value
- Regular use of AI tools in your work
- The ability to make progress when requirements are incomplete and priorities change
- A collaborative approach and willingness to improve the team’s output
- Willingness to work fully on-site in Berlin
The current stack includes TypeScript and Python, but strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn matter more than knowing every tool already. Previous voice AI or LLM experience would be valuable.
Working environment:
You’ll have substantial independence and a short path from an idea to production. The team favours rapid iteration and lightweight processes, so you should enjoy making decisions, testing them in practice and improving what you ship.
This is an intensive startup environment with expectations beyond a regular 9-to-5 schedule. It will suit someone who wants to immerse themselves in building a product and working closely with the team in person.
Benefits:
- €85,000–€160,000 annual salary, depending on experience, plus equity
- Access to AI tools to support your work
- Relocation support, including help finding an apartment
- Urban Sports Club membership
- Dinner provided when working late
- Visa sponsorship considered for exceptional candidates
Location:
Berlin, Germany. This is a fully on-site position.
