Job Description Summary:

Job Title: Director, Public Policy

Function: Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability (PACS)

Reports to: Senior Director, Public Policy

At The Coca‑Cola Company, we are committed to refreshing the world and making a difference, guided by responsible growth and positive societal impact. Public Policy is a cornerstone of that commitment—helping us navigate complex regulatory landscapes, engage transparently with stakeholders, and contribute to solutions on shared challenges like sustainability, health, and economic development.

As Director, Public Policy, you will lead the development and implementation of policy engagement strategies that support business objectives and uphold compliance standards across Egypt market. This role builds constructive relationships with government, trade associations, NGOs, and key influencers, enabling The Coca‑Cola Company to anticipate policy changes, shape frameworks responsibly, and strengthen trust with communities and stakeholders.

If you thrive at the intersection of business strategy, governance, and multi-stakeholder engagement, this position offers an opportunity to create meaningful impact across the system and society.

What You’ll Do for Us

  • Develop public policy strategy for assigned geography, addressing key areas such as sustainability, packaging, health & wellness, taxation, trade, and digital governance.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments; assess risks and opportunities to ensure proactive business alignment.
  • Build relationships with policymakers, regulators, trade associations, NGOs, and other external stakeholders to foster dialogue and shared value initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional partnerships with Legal, PACS, Sustainability, Marketing, and Commercial teams to integrate policy priorities into business programs without prescriptive authority.
  • Prepare advocacy material, stakeholder briefings, and evidence-based position papers ensuring compliance with governance and ethical standards.
  • Support risk management processes by escalating potential policy impacts and enabling scenario planning within business teams.
  • Represent the company at industry forums and regulatory consultations to promote responsible practices and collaborative solutions.
  • Drive adherence to marketing compliance policies, including marketing-to-children guidelines, health claims integrity, and data privacy principles.
  • Enable capability building across OU and system teams to raise policy awareness and governance rigor.
  • Champion inclusion, sustainability, and responsible engagement in all policy-related initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory advocacy, or corporate affairs within FMCG or similar sectors.
  • Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory processes and stakeholder ecosystems relevant to social, economic, and environmental policy.
  • Proven ability to manage complex policy portfolios and navigate ambiguity across diverse markets and cultures.
  • Familiarity with global sustainability frameworks and health regulations highly desirable.
  • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills within matrix organizations.
  • Strong skills in communication, negotiation, and preparing clear, persuasive advocacy content.
  • Ability to uphold compliance and ethics standards rigorously while advancing constructive engagement.
  • Agile, forward-thinking approach—anticipating policy trends and integrating insights into long-term planning.

What We’ll Do for You

  • Provide a platform to shape policy solutions that enable responsible business growth and positive societal impact.
  • Offer opportunities to collaborate across global networks, industry forums, and cross-functional teams on high-visibility priorities.
  • Support your growth through specialized learning and broad engagement with regulatory, sustainability, and corporate governance disciplines.
  • Empower you to make a difference by influencing policies that align business innovation with community well-being.
