Job Summary
An individual in this role would be expected to manufacture a limited number of products in accordance with supplied Standard Operating Procedures, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, in a clean, controlled environment. Understanding a wide range of product manufacture, training new hires and being proficient in the maintenance of key equipment. Leadership role including scheduling, cycle counts, and requisitions. Helps support Coating Services including resolution of quality issues and process improvements.
Responsibilities
Manufacturing (70%)
• Manufacture & test product per SOP as directed by the engineer or production planner
• Prepare and submit samples to the appropriate QC department
• Ensure adherence to GMP guidelines for MD Coatings / Commercial Development manufacturing
• Train on all processes and procedures in assigned area and be prepared to train other production personnel
Communication (10%)
• Provide prompt and professional updates
• Provide project updates to supervisors and engineers
• Maintains complete, organized, and up-to-date records
• Verbally reports results and experimental issues to colleagues and supervisor
Efficient & Organized Environment (10%)
• Monitor inventory of general laboratory supplies
• Maintains laboratory equipment and document daily/weekly maintenance activities
• Oversee the routine housekeeping of the production area, cleaning process equipment, etc.
• Keeping equipment on a preventative maintenance schedule
• Perform monthly and annual preventive maintenance as requested
Continuous Improvement (10%)
• Edit standard operating procedures (SOPs) for repetitive manufacturing activities
• Support the resolution of deviations, investigations, non-conformances, and other Quality issues
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree in a laboratory technology field (i.e. Chemistry, Biology) or 5+ years of production experience as an Operator/Technician (or equivalent)
• Organizational and documentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to take work direction
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Computer skills appropriate for work responsibilities
