Overview
The IT Business Analyst is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and managing business and technology initiatives related to demographic, coding, and revenue cycle applications. This role serves as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and development resources to ensure solutions meet operational needs and align with organizational objectives.
The IT Business Analyst will support the ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of assigned applications while partnering with solution managers to gather, analyze, prioritize, and translate business requirements into actionable work items. The successful candidate will develop deep subject matter expertise in assigned solutions, business processes, and supporting data structures to drive effective decision-making and continuous improvement

The base pay estimate for this role is $66,900 - $113,700 annually. The final offer will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate. This range is for base pay only and does not include bonuses or other compensation. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are awarded based on company and individual performance.

- Partners with business stakeholders to gather, document, validate, and prioritize business requirements.
- Translates business requirements into actionable work items, user stories, and enhancement requests for development teams.
- Develops and maintains subject matter expertise in assigned applications, business processes, workflows, and supporting data structures.
- Serves as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and development resources to ensure alignment and successful solution delivery.
- Supports solution managers in prioritizing initiatives and ensuring stakeholder needs and business objectives are effectively addressed.
- Facilitates clear and consistent communication across stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership.
- Develops and maintains a strong understanding of USAP operational, demographic, coding, and revenue cycle data requirements.
- Identifies communication gaps, manages issue escalations, and supports teams in resolving competing priorities and complex business challenges.
- Participates in change management and governance activities, including Change Control Board (CCB) processes, committees, and approval workflows.
- Analyzes, validates, documents, and communicates application configuration changes, potential impacts, and implementation plans.
- Supports software implementations, upgrades, and integrations for new and existing applications.
- Coordinates and supports testing activities, including test planning, defect management, user acceptance testing (UAT), and solution validation.
- Assists with application support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution to ensure system stability and user satisfaction.
- Collaborates with vendors and internal teams to evaluate, implement, and optimize technology solutions.
- Creates and maintains business process documentation, workflows, training materials, and knowledge articles.
- Monitors and validates data integrity, ensuring accuracy and consistency across supported systems and reporting processes.
- Provides ongoing support for application optimization efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assists in identifying, tracking, and communicating project risks, issues, and dependencies to stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management information systems (MIS), information technology, or a related field required. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a business analyst in a healthcare environment.
- Experience supporting healthcare applications, revenue cycle processes, coding systems, demographic systems, or related operational platforms preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
- Experience with software implementations, system integrations, testing, and change management processes preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia demographic, coding, and healthcare operational workflows preferred.
- Revenue cycle management (RCM) experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business processes and data.
- Experience gathering, documenting, analyzing, and translating business requirements into functional solutions.
- Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Experience reading, writing, and troubleshooting SQL queries preferred.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management, documentation, stakeholder management, and meeting facilitation skills.
- Ability to identify risks, resolve issues, and drive solutions through collaboration and influence.
