Job Description/Responsibilities
The role of Safety Co-Ordinator allows you to directly impact workers’ lives, build a stable & growing career while developing valuable leadership skills. Sazerac invests heavily in health & safety, ensuring strong job stability while helping to develop a world class distillery & visitor experience on the West coast of Ireland.
What You’ll Do
- Create guidelines: design & update safety procedures, handbooks & regulatory policies.
- Align workplace operations with local & national occupational health & safety standards.
- Risk management: Evaluate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) & other safety resources, conduct safety audits & perform risk assessments.
- Environmental compliance: Have knowledge of the organizations adherence to environmental laws, standards & regulations set by the government.
- Testing, coordinating servicing & reporting on all life safety systems.
- Updating and developing all documents in relation to the COMAH regulations including ATEX register.
- Co-ordination all statuary inspections on lifting equipment and plant/ ladders and safety harnesses and ensuring any actions arising from the inspections are completed.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma as minimum or bachelor’s degree (QQI Level 8).
- 5 years minimum experience in high-risk sector i.e. construction or manufacturing.
- A solid understanding of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and related Health and Safety Authority (HSA) guidelines.
- Ability to draft Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), conduct site audits, and investigate workplace incidents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills and adaptability to a small team.
- A full clean driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25kg.
