The Global Category Leader IT Professional Services & Cyber is responsible for leading strategic sourcing activities across all aspects of GE Vernova spend for the scope of the work. This includes taking strategic ownership of entire category spend, developing strategies to reduce total cost of ownership –including vendor management, demand management, and governance/compliance –to achieve initial step change TCO reduction and ongoing year-over-year improvements. The Global Category Leader will set global strategy, coordinate sourcing efforts and policy, and execute initiatives. This will also involve partnering with GE Vernova functional stakeholders in the IT organization, Finance, Engineering, and other Sourcing colleagues, and other functions to drive TCO reduction while delivering excellent service levels to the organization. The Global Category Leader is also responsible for managing a group of sourcing professionals, optimizing their work, coaching them where needed, and ensuring employee engagement.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee development/ execution of strategies through the sourcing process for specific Category Group of spend areas
• Champion and secure TCO reductions for Labor Services and Professional Services
• Lead category budgeting process: identify opportunities and their estimated value creation, define sourcing projects in alignment with stakeholders and follow through execution of related sourcing projects
• Partner with the Vendor Management Organization, a function of IT, to overseeing spend categories (e.g., upgrade should-cost analysis capabilities, work closely with functions -Engineering, Finance, HR, etc.)
• Oversee end-to-end Sourcing process for the category, validate inputs from the sub-category teams to establish consistent approach for: strategy, market analysis, negotiation process (RFXs), supplier selection and contract creation, and buy channel management
• Lead and manage multi-functional stakeholder teams on specific strategic sourcing initiatives or projects
• Identify, document and implement best practices
• Partner closely with HQ and Segment CIOs to deliver outstanding value to GE Vernova
• Measure and track internal performance within each subcategory
• Monitor strategy implementation to ensure benefit realization
• Drive annual productivity improvements in each spending category
• Drive value through supplier relationship management
• Maintain and engaged, high performing team, make constant efforts to optimize and rationalize their work, ensure high level engagement measured by Glint (or equivalent) surveys

Required Qualifications

• For roles in USA Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college; Minimum of 15 years' experience in Sourcing (including IT sourcing), Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, or equivalent consulting experience.
• Demonstrated ability in leading large scale organizational, process, and culture change.
• Proven records of delivering complex end-to-end procurement projects; ability to deal with ambiguous situations and manage challenging stakeholders.

Desired Characteristics

• MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering
• IT Category management/sourcing experience in a multinational company
• Track record of driving step change improvement in sourcing or similar functions
• Strong analytical skills (spend analytics, should-cost analysis, market R&I)
• Collaborative mindset
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Demonstrated negotiations skills
• Aggressive self-starter
• Strong project management skills
• Experience with RFQ implementation and execution
• Working knowledge of ERP/ SSS systems

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $149,400.00 and $248,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
