The Key Purpose of this role is to perform activities related to journal processing, reconciliations, management of SAP open items, and general accounting administration.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly and annual General Accounting activities.
Prepare journals, including OTC journals, ensuring they are accurately and timeously uploaded and processed in SAP.
Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Administer and clear all GL open items in SAP timeously to maintain a healthy ageing status.
Adhere to General Ledger closure deadlines in accordance with management requirements.
Assist the team in meeting weekly and monthly targets, SLAs, and KPIs.
Maintain role training documentation and support knowledge transfer to new employees.
Present and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring process-related issues.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring or high-severity issues to drive issue reduction.
Identify automation opportunities and work with technology teams to improve processes and leverage system functionality.
Adhere to internal control protocols and provide information required for internal and external audits.
Share information relating to business requirements with relevant stakeholders.
Support the Team Lead in identifying process improvement, operational excellence, and efficiency opportunities.
Present key challenges, insights, and workarounds to the Team Lead.
Troubleshoot issues and recommend improvement ideas to the Team Lead.
Perform ad hoc projects and assignments as required.

Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in financial performance management.
Experience with fixed assets.
Business knowledge and commercial acumen.
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across the business.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
End-to-end SAP knowledge and understanding.
Knowledge of Syspro and Cognos systems.
Power BI experience or knowledge preferred.
