You are accountable for the generation of a 24 months rolling Materials Plan. You will manage the procurement of all required materials (packaging and raw materials) as per production plan requirements. You ensure opportunities and risks are regularly revised and communicated, in order to meet the required production demand at lowest possible costs, working capital and targeted customer service levels. You will facilitate the Supplier review process in conjunction with Procurement. You are responsible for the implementation of continuous improvement in materials planning and the adoption of materials planning process and toolsWHAT YOU WILL DO:
Materials Planning
- Manage the materials requirements plan to support production requirements in the short- and long-term horizon
- Validate the materials plan and retrieve material shortage reports for resolution with buyers .
- Release requisitions to buyers for purchase order creation.
- Check shortages in production, review with warehouse, buyers and production planners and devise contingencies to mitigate production losses (e.g. shortages, late deliveries etc.).
- Ensure best delivery days through collaboration with warehouses and suppliers.
- In collaboration with warehouse/ development/ laboratory, check on any suspect material to ensure continuity in factories.
- Prepare the necessary analysis and present the constraint component, projections and mitigating action plans at the Supply Chain Review Meeting (SRM)
- Uses SRM to present medium to long term upstream supply risks and presents scenario's with financialized impact to influence decision-making in the meeting.
Project Management
- Execute existing project action plans based on projects milestone and objectives, and advise on risks and opportunities associated with all projects
- Manage material procurement required for trials in collaboration with NPD.
- Coordinates with key stakeholders (R&D, quality, procurement and buyers ) to ensure material availability to support PIPO, renovations, CI’s and New product launches.
- Prepare liability reports, manage material write-offs or obsolete RM/PM, and communicate the financial impact to the business with regards to launches, re-launches, phase-in phase out and discontinuations.
Working Capital
- Review and maintain forward material requirements within working capital targets for packaging and raw materials - i.e. minimize stockholding whilst ensuring sufficient supply.
- Track and report on packaging & raw material working capital against the agreed targets.
- Manage the stock provision schedule with site finance team to ensure all inventory risks, including excess stock at suppliers are fully provided for, and write off’s mitigated.
Supplier and Material Risk Management
- Lead and manage the supplier relationship agenda with the objective of building relationships, identifying supply risks and opportunities, and ensuring continuity of supply.
- Act as a key link with Central Procurement for all material forecasts, supplier performance and pricing changes.
- Provide suppliers with a rolling 13-week forward estimate on a weekly basis and rolling 12-month material requirements plan.
- Generates scenario's to evaluate material shortages on sales, factory volume and recoveries
- Leads risk mitigation actions such as safety stock planning or alternate sourcing jointly with procurement and technical teams
Planning Tools
- Manage system integrity and accuracy of the MRP tool through regular reviews and updates of all relevant data elements affecting MRP functioning.
Accountability
- Develop inventory stock holding policy for RM/PM in line with group targets and remain within targets through effective planning.
- Liaise with suppliers on ways to reduce working capital.
- Manage supplier constraints in collaboration with suppliers in order to avoid business interruptions.
- Develop contingency plans in collaboration with Central Procurement and/or Suppliers to mitigate potential supply risks.
- MRP adherence with no audit findings.

- Qualifications : National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management / Supply Chain Management & BCOM-Logistics / Supply Chain. CPIM / CSCP/ CIPS advantageous

- Function – 3+ Years experience in planning, experience in supplier, retail & make to stock environment preferred
- Industry – Experience in FMCG / Manufacturing industry desirable
