Interim Operations Area Manager
Principal Accountabilities:
This position is responsible for overseeing multiple areas within a shift. Ensure the accurate and timely operation of Processing and Value Added Services (VAS). Establish control-related standards and procedures. Oversee the daily activities of warehouse employees engaged in all distribution center activities including: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking, and packing finished products. Responsible for identifying space requirements and coordinating needs for storage with delivery and distribution schedules to achieve distribution center goals and ensure customer satisfaction. Duties also include maintenance of equipment and ensuring a safe work environment, and to suggest procedure changes for increased efficiency.
- Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred - Equivalent years of experience in a substantially similar industry may be considered in lieu of a degree to be determined by the nature of the specific job and the hiring manager’s criteria
- Generally six years of progressive experience with one year of supervisory experience* Strong organization and communication skills

- Bi-lingual - Spanish preferred
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.

People management responsibility for pay reviews, performance management, training, and resource planning
How you Will Make a Difference:
- Promotes a Safety culture environment while ensuring training and compliance of all VF Safety policies/procedures and any other related safety requirements.
- Establishes and cultivates morale and engagement of team members. Encourages team member participation in workplace activities and events. Establishes and directs positive communication channels between cross-functional teams (HR, Maintenance, Safety & Operations team)
- Monitor daily performance forecast as it relates to DC productivity/efficiency. Leverages all performance management, KPI, DC Balancing and Flow applicable to managing daily DC functional area performance.
- Assist in training and development of team in collaboration with DC trainers. Ensures compliance with all established DC SOP’s for each applicable functional area.
- Advocates and actively participates in continuous improvement culture, while utilizing LEAN methodology.
- Maintains appropriate and required records for team members, attendance, training and KPI’s under their responsibility.
- Participates in administrative activities, which may include defining resource needs and works within budget and staffing parameters to meet business objectives. Assists in managing daily staffing needs for designated department: vacations, monitors turnover and volume.
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
- Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours including weekends as necessary.
- Bend lift, open, and move product from 1 to 50lbs.
- Warehouse environment: Must be physically capable of working in conditions normally associated with a merchandise warehouse or distribution center, such as, but not limited to, warm and cold temperatures, seeing and hearing moving equipment to stay out of harms way, and continuous power equipment noise.
Hiring Range:
$74,800.00 USD - $93,500.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
