Job Summary

The future is bright for the Porch Group, and we’d love for you to be a part of it as our Backend Senior Software Engineer on our ingestion and data platform team. This team is responsible for integrations with data partners and our core platform data – both areas that are undergoing rapid evolution and make up critical pieces of our infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with product management, web engineers, and data engineers across the organization to deliver features that support our core businesses. This role blends hands-on backend development with technical leadership, giving you the opportunity to shape system design while helping grow the skills of those around you. What You Will Do As A Backend Senior Software Engineer

• Collaborate with product management, web engineers, and data engineers to deliver critical features supporting our core businesses.
• Design and develop backend systems and services using Scala while working with others to help grow their skills, and vice versa.
• Balance long term code health and maintainability with business needs while setting a high-quality bar.
• Lead projects from technical design through completion, communicating technical decisions through design documentation.
• Identify and resolve design problems and ambiguity with requirements.

What You Will Bring As A Backend Senior Software Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years of professional experience working on building backend applications on the JVM.
• Experience working with SQL, relational databases, and object-oriented languages (e.g. Java). Experience with Scala a plus.
• Experience working with AI and AI coding assistant tools.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture and REST based web service development.
• Ability to identify and apply the appropriate design and integration patterns to solve complex business issues.
• Experience working with cloud-based systems (GCP, AWS) and virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus.
• Ability to organize and self-direct to get things done, and communicates challenges as they occur.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
• Proven experience working with US based business teams.
• Excellent written and communication skills in English language.
• Working Hours: 8 Hours (Excluding breaks). 4 Core US Hours Overlap (7:30pm–11:30pm IST). 4 flexible hours (IST).
• Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload.

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member

Pay Range: ₹2,475,000 – ₹3,465,000 INR annually
