Description
- Manage employee relations matters, including attendance, performance concerns, progressive discipline, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee issues, documentation, and HR best practices.
- Manage workplace accommodations, modified duties, return-to-work programs, WSIB matters, and employee leaves.
- Coordinate employee terminations, resignations, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle matters.
- Manage performance reviews, probationary evaluations, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), promotions, and employee development processes.
- Execute and oversee payroll processing, including adjustments, vacation, statutory holiday calculations, ROEs, garnishments, and payroll reporting.
- Administer employee benefits, vacation, maternity/parental leaves, medical leaves, and other leave programs.
- Maintain employee records, HR documentation, policies, reporting, and HRIS administration.
- Support staffing agency relationships, workforce planning, compensation reviews, employee engagement, and HR initiatives.
- Ensure HR practices comply with applicable Ontario employment legislation and workplace requirements.
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive, hands-on HR experience.
- Strong experience in employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, accommodations, and compliance.
- Hands-on payroll processing experience is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), AODA, and WSIB requirements.
- Experience with benefits administration, employee leaves, HRIS, and employee lifecycle management.
- Strong communication, judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Manufacturing or operational HR experience is preferred.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset.
