Principal Specialist - Tax

KBR is seeking a Principal Specialist in Tax with experience in international tax returns, and other information connected to taxes.  The individual will assist with Non-US tax compliance, quarterly tax provision analysis & informational gathering to satisfy audits and governmental inquiries. The individual will also provide assistance to other functional areas of the tax department as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of corporate income tax returns or other tax documents, including related maintenance, processing, and analysis of accounting records to ensure timely and accurate reporting or tax planning.

• Review returns of lower-tier analysts for accuracy to ensure final submissions are correct.

• Analysis and reconciliation of deferred balances for US Income Tax Accounting, including researching specific matters to tax accounting and compliance

• Prepare supporting documentation for organized audit trail to minimize audit assessment and future audit exposure.

• Exposure in Singapore/Australia/UK Corporate income tax returns will be advantageous.

• Preparing quarterly tax forecast/provision under ASC 740 / IAS 12 will be necessary.

• Assist with process improvement implementation throughout the foreign tax reporting and compliance process

• Prepare Indian or foreign VAT/GST returns

• Prepare standard operating procedures for review and approval by management

• Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.

• Experience in using latest AI tools will be beneficial.

• Actively research process improvements as needed to ensure efficiency.

• Prepare quarterly account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.

• Develop good working relationships with various counterparts within the company to ensure accurate data support.

• Identify opportunities for innovation and share ideas for transformation that will drive value in the tax organization

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; accounting/finance preferred; 5+ years of experience
• CA or MBA Finance
• Working knowledge of financial systems such as SAP, Costpoint, Microsoft Dynamics & Hyperion.
• Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as Excel/Power BI, Alteryx, etc.
• Work experience in multinational corporation’s tax department
• OneSource Income Tax (OIT) or Provision (OTP) and MSD 365 preferred
• Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Self-starter; must have strong desire to help improve processes for scalability, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Experience in a fast-moving multinational corporate tax department for 3+ years highly preferred
• Tax reporting and compliance experience in multiple international tax jurisdictions in a multinational organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer skills, specifically with managing large data sets within MS Excel.
