About the Organization:
The Interfaith Public Health Network (IPHN) mobilizes faith leaders and communities to engage in public health policy, with a particular focus on food systems, nutrition, and industry accountability. Through convening, coalition-building, and advocacy, the organization works to influence the underlying drivers of health at local, state, and national levels.
 
Position Summary:
The Director of Policy and Advocacy oversees IPHN’s public health policy and advocacy portfolio, including campaigns, policy analysis, policy consulting, and related community engagement and education.

This is a part-time role at 25 hours per week.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops health policy campaigns with partner organizations, including faith-based organizations, public health practitioners, and related organizations.
  • Directs public health policy and advocacy campaigns, including campaign strategy, workstream decision-making, and personnel management.
  • Manages workstream budgeting and financial oversight for policy advocacy initiatives.
  • Leads fundraising and donor cultivation specifically tailored to support policy advocacy work.
  • Serves as the primary advisory liaison to partner organizations and builds strategic relationships with advocacy professionals, legislative staff, and external partners.
  • Formulates communication and partnership strategies for policy advocacy and leads ongoing partner management and retention.
  • Utilizes standard project management tools and principles to define and manage project scope, monitor timelines, and track deliverables.
  • Communicates and identifies pathways to resolve risks and barriers while reviewing key deliverables and draft outputs for quality and comprehension.
  • Leads strategic development, workstream strategy, and project direction for IPHN policy advocacy.
  • Develops and refines communication materials for advocacy campaigns, including social media content and press releases.
  • Presents to community and professional groups about specific campaigns and IPHN work overall.
  • Leads meeting facilitation, event planning, webinar coordination, and logistics management.
  • Supervises contract staff and interns, and oversees all contractor engagements for advocacy work.
  • Leads resource development, including grant writing, proposal management, reporting, and donor relations.
  • Stays informed of sector developments to ensure IPHN remains at the forefront of policy advocacy.
  • Oversees IPHN CRM and contact database to maximize advocacy, fundraising, and membership engagement.
  • Leads and approves hiring processes.
  • Manages website updates and digital presence. 


The Ideal Candidate

You are a strategic, experienced advocate with a strong background in public health policy, community organizing, and faith-based partnerships. They are a skilled campaign leader, communicator, and relationship builder who can bring diverse stakeholders together, manage complex initiatives, and turn strategy into action. They are comfortable with fundraising, project and budget management, and supervising teams, and bring a strong commitment to health equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. A deep understanding of diverse faith communities and a commitment to improving public health are essential.

  • Graduate education, preferably Master of Public Health or equivalent
  • Ordination or profession in a particular religious tradition preferred 
  • Extensive experience in community mobilization/organizing
  • Knowledge of and experience working with an extensive network of stakeholders across geographies, sectors, demographic groups and perspectives.
  • Broad familiarity with diverse faith traditions
  • Experience presenting to faith-based audiences 
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racist practice
  • Must possess a commitment to the health and well-being of the public and of working with faith communities in particular. 
  • Ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Office, Zoom, NationBuilder, and Asana
  • Willing to travel and conduct occasional work outside normal working hours (weekends and after-hour events) as needed. 
  • Experience with IPHN.


Workplace, Compensation & Application

Workplace & Travel: All employees work from home offices with occasional travel (1-2 times per year) for all-team in-person meetings.

Compensation: Multiplier provides a comprehensive compensation package, including competitive salary ($43 per hour), excellent medical and dental benefits, retirement savings, and generous vacation and sick leave policy.
