• Friday: 9:15 AM - 5:15 PM
• Saturday: 10:15 AM - 5:15 PM
• Sunday: 1:15 PM - 5:15 PM
   

Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is looking for a dependable and personable Unarmed Security Officer to provide weekend coverage in Glenwood Springs. This position combines security awareness with a strong focus on professional public interaction.

The officer will maintain a visible presence, monitor assigned areas, assist members of the public when appropriate, identify potential concerns, and communicate important information to supervisors and designated personnel.

The ideal candidate is approachable, observant, respectful, and comfortable working around a diverse group of people while maintaining professional boundaries.
 

Primary Responsibilities

Public Assistance & Professional Interaction

• Serve as a courteous and professional point of contact for individuals entering or using the assigned location.
• Respond to routine questions and direct individuals to the appropriate personnel when additional assistance is needed.
• Interact respectfully with visitors, employees, vendors, and other authorized individuals.
• Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere through appropriate communication and conduct.
• Recognize when a question or concern falls outside the scope of the security role and refer it appropriately.
   

Security Awareness

• Maintain a consistent and visible security presence throughout assigned areas.
• Observe activity for behavior, conditions, or circumstances that may create a safety or security concern.
• Monitor designated entrances, exits, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Identify suspicious activity, disruptive behavior, potential hazards, or violations of established rules.
• Notify supervisors or designated personnel when security concerns require attention.
• Follow applicable post orders, assignment instructions, and company procedures.
   

Area & Facility Checks

• Conduct routine walkthroughs of designated areas.
• Look for hazards, maintenance concerns, damaged property, or other conditions that could affect safety.
• Monitor access to designated restricted areas when assigned.
• Support appropriate enforcement of established rules and facility guidelines.
• Maintain awareness of activity throughout the assigned shift.
   

Reports & Communication

• Complete daily activity logs accurately and within required timeframes.
• Prepare clear reports regarding incidents, unusual activity, safety concerns, or interactions requiring follow-up.
• Communicate important observations to supervisors and designated contacts.
• Provide factual information without unnecessary assumptions or speculation.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling security-related information.
   

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
• Professional and respectful communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in public-facing situations.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently while remaining alert to surrounding activity.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

• Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security experience.
• Customer service or other public-facing experience.
• Experience working in hospitality or similar service-oriented environments.
• Experience in community-facing or public-use facilities.
• Familiarity with activity logs, incident reports, and routine security documentation.
• Experience using communication and de-escalation techniques to resolve challenging interactions.
• Strong situational awareness and practical problem-solving skills.
