The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive project leader with a strong editorial eye and hands-on content creation capabilities. You will bridge operational project management with active content production, authoring member communications, press materials, and digital copy while collaborating across teams to support business attraction, regional advocacy, and organizational events. The selected candidate should be a curious listener, proactive collaborator, and savvy communicator.

  • Manages day-to-day earned media relations and inquiries, pitches regional and trade media outlets, coordinates press briefings, and monitors the news cycle for opportunities and emerging issues.
  • Manages cross-platform editorial and digital campaign calendars, overseeing email distribution schedules and coordinating digital marketing rollouts with internal staff.
  • Partners with internal teams including business investment, public policy, research, and events to understand program goals and translate them into actionable communications deliverables.
  • Gathers and evaluates performance analytics across media relations, web traffic, and digital campaigns to provide regular reporting and recommendations for optimization.
  • Ensures compliance with writing, graphic, and brand standards across organizational collateral and events.
  • Manages member collateral and executive presentations in collaboration with development and executive teams.
  • Facilitates the efficiency of the organization by performing other duties and participating in special projects, as assigned.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or related field required.

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with public policy, regional business development, and civic leadership landscapes. Practical knowledge of digital marketing workflows, media outreach tools, and content management systems

Experience:

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in marketing project management, communications, or public relations; agency or civic sector experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience writing diverse communications deliverables across short- and long-form formats, including news releases, articles, web content, and newsletters.
  • Proven track record managing multiple deadline-driven projects and coordinating cross-functional traffic workflows from concept through completion.

Skills:

  • Working familiarity with tools such as WordPress, Mailchimp, Sprout Social, Canva, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, and multi-deadline environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and focus on deliverables without losing sight of broader communication strategies and organizational priorities.
  •  Ability to balance and prioritize demands from a variety of sources, both internal and external, and deal effectively with politically sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of internal colleagues, exercising good judgment, maturity, and diplomacy.
