Description
Who we are
With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.
What we need
Symbotic is seeking a Manager, Project Operations to join our team within our Project Management Office organization. Your job will be to lead the Regional Project Coordinators supporting Project Directors and Project Managers across Symbotic’s deployment portfolio while driving the operational health and continuous improvement of Stage Gate governance, Comprehensive Risk Assessment Management (CRAM), reporting, and action follow-up
What we do
The PMO enables Symbotic’s Project Execution organization by building operating mechanisms that improve predictable delivery: standardized governance, cross-functional coordination, portfolio transparency, and continuous improvement. We accelerate execution by clarifying ownership, improving decision cycles, and deploying scalable systems and ways of working that help teams deliver on Symbotic’s organizational pillars - Deliver Budget, Elevate Talent, and Invest in Development.
What you'll do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of Regional Project Coordinators supporting complex automation deployments across multiple programs and regions.
- Own and continuously improve the execution-stage Stage Gate and CRAM processes, establishing consistent governance, readiness criteria, documentation, risk management, and follow-through across the deployment portfolio.
- Oversee regional operating and reporting cadence, including status updates, milestone scorecards, action tracking, and escalation of blocked deliverables or at-risk gates.
- Partner with Project Directors, Regional Deployment Leads, Supply Chain leadership, and other cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities and support critical site deployment milestones.
- Consolidate regional status, milestone, and risk information into portfolio-level dashboards and operational reviews that provide actionable visibility to senior leadership.
- Own team tools, standard operating procedures, templates, and workflows, driving improvements across Smartsheet, SharePoint, Excel, Jira, and BI platforms.
- Lead project documentation and compliance audits, identify recurring execution bottlenecks, and drive cross-functional process improvements that strengthen audit readiness and operational consistency.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Program Management, PMO Operations, or Project Management within complex, multi-site project environments or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of direct people management, with a track record of leading, mentoring, and developing remote or geographically distributed teams.
- Experience in Program Management, PMO Operations, Project Management, or related work within complex, multi-site project environments.
- Practical expertise in stage-gate or phase-gate project governance, milestone gating, formal risk and issue management, and governance or compliance metrics.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing remote or geographically distributed teams and partnering effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience with project management, reporting, and workflow tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, SharePoint, Tableau, or other BI platforms.
- Experience with warehouse automation, industrial systems integration, construction, capital project delivery, audit readiness, or PMP/CAPM certification is a plus
Our Environment
- Up to 30% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client locations and company HQ.
- Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.
