To manage and drive Pick n Pay brand presence on the social channels including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest to ensure the brand is effectively communicating with customers in the digital space. This role includes content production of all posts for the Pick and Pay social media channels, social media strategy, community management as well as analytics and reporting.Grade 12/Matric
Relevant tertiary qualification in either Digital Marketing, Journalism & Media or Copywriting and retail experience would be advantageous.
Minimum of three years’ experience as a Social Media Manager from a reputable digital agency or similar environment
Ability to work under extreme pressure
Solid, creative writing skills
In-depth understanding of digital marketing best practices.
Experience working on digital projects involving multiple and/or digital agencies in a collaborative manner.

Understand media and different targeting capabilities of the different social platforms and the ad formats.
Key Responsibilities
Together with the Content Manager Lead plan, oversee and implement the social media strategy for the Pick n Pay brand and ensuring all content aligns with the brand plan and all content is relevant for users and platform/channels.
Establish, plan and execute the social media influencer strategy for Pick n Pay.
Keep up to date with emerging social media trends and technology to continually improve the Pick n Pay social media offering and develop social media opportunities.
Increasing followers on all Pick n Pay social media platforms.
Set social media channel targets and KPIs eg. Followers, reach, engagement, etc
Ensure accuracy, relevancy and appropriateness of all content across all Pick n Pay social channels,this content includes paid media and video content.
Develop a content calendar and posting schedule across all platforms ensuring a constant supply of relevant content as well as plan tactical content.
Plan social media for all major campaigns across all Pick n Pay social media channels.
Supervise the output of the social media assistant and 3rd party suppliers.
Manage and educate the internal and stakeholders to ensure the social media content is in line with the brand plan and CI.
Manage and plan customer relationship management processes, strategy and stakeholders (customer services team).
Resolve customer service issues and create positive PR opportunities and increase positive brand sentiment.
Manage Pick n Pay event coverage on social channels.
Build relationships with and engage with users on social channels
Manage and optimise the paid-for advertising budget on social media channels and plan social media expenditure for all campaigns.
Liaise with 3rd party media buyers to ensure the Pick n Pay channels are adequately promoted.
Report on all social media metrics and continually look for new ways to improve on the metrics and guide future campaigns.
Monitor competitor brands activity in the social media space.
Share metrics with the Head of Digital Operations and the digital team regularly via reporting.
Educating the wider marketing team to explain the importance of social media and the capabilities of social media channels via regular workshops.
Work closely with digital marketing team, digital project managers and other internal stakeholders to plan, strategise and collaborate on campaigns.
