Job Description
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Field Operations in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and support patients, visitors, and staff with professional customer service. You will use sound judgment, clear communication, and integrity while collaborating with the Allied Universal team to promote a welcoming environment. This armed role requires a valid armed guard card or license.

- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with facility personnel and emergency responders as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, patient care areas, parking facilities, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, access control, and enforcement of site-specific policies for restricted areas.
- Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
