Drilling Engineer - Halvue & Landmark Drilling Applications

 

We are seeking a highly experienced Drilling Engineer to join our dynamic team and provide expert real-time drilling engineering support. The role involves utilizing the Halvue platform and Landmark drilling applications to optimize drilling operations, ensure accuracy in workflows, and integrate engineering solutions seamlessly into the corporate drilling database. As a Drilling Engineer, you will work collaboratively with operations and data management teams to ensure world-class execution of drilling programs.

This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technology and engineering expertise to ensure the highest safety, efficiency, and performance standards for drilling operations.

• Full time role for a duration of up to one year.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time drilling engineering support using the Halvue platform and Landmark drilling applications.
• Collaborate with operations, field teams, and data management groups to ensure seamless and accurate integration of drilling engineering data into the corporate database.
• Perform well planning, drilling program preparation, and drilling optimization.
• Monitor real-time drilling data and ensure proper integration between engineering and operations systems.
• Utilize Compass, WellPlan, and OpenWells for well planning, drilling mechanics, and data management.
• Validate and maintain high standards for drilling data accuracy and reporting quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to well control, drilling hazards, and operational inefficiencies.
• Support hazard analysis, torque & drag calculations, and hydraulic modeling.
• Communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, including rig sites, engineering, and data management teams.
• Document engineering workflows, decisions, and outcomes to improve processes continuously.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in drilling engineering.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong hands-on experience with the Halvue platform for drilling operations and reporting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Landmark drilling applications, including Compass (well planning), WellPlan (torque & drag, hydraulics, and drilling mechanics), and OpenWells (drilling data management).
  • Expertise in well planning, drilling program preparation, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with real-time drilling data monitoring and integration.
• Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities for well control and operational troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Detailed understanding of drilling data quality, validation, and reporting standards.

Day-to-Day

• Review drilling operations and provide real-time support using advanced platforms like Halvue.
• Analyze and validate ongoing drilling data to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Communicate with rig-site teams and other engineering disciplines to troubleshoot challenges in drilling operations.
• Use Landmark tools such as Compass, WellPlan, and OpenWells for project optimization and documentation.
• Collaborate with data management teams to ensure workflows are executed seamlessly and integrate into the corporate database.
• Review and update drilling plans to optimize performance, safety, and environmental adherence.
• Prepare detailed reports summarizing drilling performance, challenges, and recommended optimizations.
