Job Title: Mortgage Sales Manager
Position Location: Raleigh, NC. Hybrid, must live locally.
Job Summary:
The Mortgage Sales Manager leads the overall performance, operations, and member experience of the mortgage branch. This role focuses on driving production results through team leadership, strengthening referral partnerships, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining full compliance with regulatory requirements. The manager is responsible for developing staff, optimizing workflow efficiency, and aligning branch performance with Coastal Credit Union's strategic growth objectives.
As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:
- (40%) Lead Production Goals:
- Drive consistent achievement of production and sales goals by delivering targeted coaching, reinforcing sales process excellence, and cultivating referral-based business growth.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators, including application volume, pull-through rates, turnaround times, and member satisfaction, to ensure alignment with business objectives and service standards.
- Develop and execute performance improvement strategies to address gaps, drive accountability, and restore progress toward established goals and operational targets.
- (30%) Strategic Partnerships & Business Development:
- Strengthen partnerships with retail branches, realtors, and community stakeholders to drive referrals and business growth.
- Represent Coastal Credit Union in community events, internal initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration efforts.
- Develop and execute prospecting plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and member needs to identify growth opportunities. Make recommendations and implement action plans accordingly.
- Provide feedback to leadership on product competitiveness and program enhancement recommendations.
- (15%) Operational Excellence & Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations, internal policies, and underwriting guidelines.
- Oversee and ensure file quality, documentation accuracy, and audit readiness.
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Quality Control to address findings and implement corrective actions.
- (15%) Member Experience & Service Quality:
- Ensure an exceptional member experience from application through closing.
- Establish and reinforce service standards, communication expectations, and follow-up practices.
- Provide guidance to team members in resolving escalated member concerns and complex lending scenarios ensuring timely, effective solutions while personally intervening to drive resolution when necessary.

Experience:
- Eight years of mortgage lending experience, with at least two years in a leadership role. Demonstrated experience managing production, pipeline performance, and team development.
- Experience in a credit union or community-focused financial institution preferred.
- Experience with Encompass and Built is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field; or four years of additional experience in lieu of degree
