Summary
The Director of Wellness upholds the philosophy, vision and core values of the organization and ensures the Christian Mission of EverTrue is realized so that “Older Adults Live Life to the Fullest” by accessing the population needs of the community to develop and oversee appropriate Wellness programming for both residents and staff. Provides supervision to Wellness staff in the delivery of physical wellness for residents in assigned level of living. Oversees staff Wellness and works to create a culture of Wellness for the staff by creating and promoting wellness programs to employees and by helping to motivate participants. Also serves as the community representative on the corporate Wellness Committee.
Essential Functions
1. Plans, organizes and facilitates wellness programing for the Independent Living residents. Maintains professional and technical knowledge about exercise, health and fitness by remaining current with industry trends
2. Develops and implements individual programs for our current Independent Living (IL) residents and future residents
- Each resident’s plan is individualized to ensure resident safety
- Works with resident physician to ensure the resident can complete safely
- Maintaining programming through contraindications of health in terms of physiological and anatomical conditions
- Provides goals that can attainable by the residents and work with the residents to achieve those goals
3. Develops and implements group programs for our current IL residents and future residents, to include but not limited to Leg Strength and Development, Gait Training, Balance Training, Range of Motion of Legs, Trunk, Upper Body and Hip Mobility, Cardiovascular Response and proper guideline, Low Impact Routines, etc.
4. May manage other Wellness staff, including hiring, training and managing the performance of those staff members
5. Collaborates with Director of Lifestyle Enrichment to plan and coordinate the monthly calendars, and works to promote and communicate the Wellness programming to the residents
6. Coordinates with community and corporate Wellness committees to plan, develop and oversee staff Wellness programming and opportunities. Communicates with community staff about current and upcoming Wellness opportunities. Also works toward motivating current participants
7. Participates in establishing the Wellness budget. Monitors and tracks expenses on an on-going basis and balances expenses against budget. Recommends all future Wellness purchases (including equipment and supplies)
8. Develops and changes departmental policies and procedures as needed.
9. Performs or oversees the routine and annual maintenance of Wellness equipment to ensure proper working condition.
10.Provides support to all residents and staff ensuring proper technique and programming for all independent exercise routines
11. Participates in the leadership team staff meetings and supports community wide and/or departmental efforts
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- College Degree in exercise physiology/public health or related field.
- Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized agency.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Group exercise experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with employees, residents, families and physicians.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead a team.
- Recognizes the value of extra-ordinary customer service and values person-centered care.

The employee may help with moving residents in wheelchairs, setting up tables and chairs and other supplies and equipment used for activities. Employee lifts up to 40 lbs on an occasional basis. Employee pushes and pulls a maximum force of 30 lbs.

EverTrue Pay & Benefits
Pay grade: Exempt Grade C ($51,675.00/year to $82,500.00/year)
Pay grade: Non-Exempt Grade C1 ($24.84/hour to $39.66/hour)
