Description

Leidos is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to support the Indo-Pacific Logistics and Sustainment Services (ILS2) contract in Hawai'i. This position will serve as the program's senior medical operations advisor and lead the planning, coordination, and oversight of medical support requirements across the ILS2 program. The Chief Medical Officer will work closely with ILS2 leadership, USPACOM and component command medical planners, healthcare organizations, logistics and transportation teams, and other mission partners to support MEDEVAC/CASEVAC, patient movement and repatriation, medical logistics, and related health service support activities throughout the Pacific theater. The position supports day-to-day operations as well as exercises, contingency operations, and crisis response, with a focus on ensuring medical requirements are understood, coordinated, and integrated into broader logistics and sustainment activities.

As the Chief Medical Officer, you will provide senior-level leadership and coordination for medical operations supporting the ILS2 mission. You will serve as the primary program advisor for patient movement, MEDEVAC/CASEVAC coordination, medical logistics, and related medical sustainment requirements. You will work across military, government, healthcare, transportation, and logistics organizations to identify medical support needs, resolve issues, and develop practical support solutions. You will also support operational and contingency planning, assess medical support risks and limitations, and provide recommendations to program leadership and government stakeholders. This role requires someone who can work comfortably across multiple organizations, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a geographically dispersed and fast-paced environment. The Chief Medical Officer will also provide day-to-day guidance to assigned medical support personnel and help improve the processes, procedures, and readiness measures used to support the program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior medical operations advisor for ILS2, overseeing patient movement, MEDEVAC/CASEVAC, medical logistics, and related health service support.
  • Coordinate medical requirements with USPACOM, component commands, healthcare providers, logistics teams, and other mission partners.
  • Integrate medical support into operational planning, exercises, contingencies, and crisis response, including Class VIII materiel and medical sustainment.
  • Identify risks, capability gaps, and support constraints, and provide recommendations to program and customer leadership.
  • Maintain required plans, procedures, readiness information, and compliance with applicable DoD, federal, and contractual requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting medical operations, patient movement, medical logistics, healthcare administration, or health service support in a DoD, federal, or defense environment.
  • Experience coordinating medical requirements with logistics, transportation, sustainment, or operational planning organizations.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with working knowledge of applicable DoD and federal requirements.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access required prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a healthcare, logistics, business, or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting a Combatant Command, component command, joint headquarters, DHA, or other DoD medical organization.
  • Experience with MEDEVAC/CASEVAC, patient movement, Class VIII medical logistics, contingency planning, or deployed medical support.
  • Indo-Pacific experience and familiarity with joint health service support, austere operations, or partner-nation coordination are preferred.
