Rite-Hite is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our team out of our Horn Lake, MS manufacturing facility. In this role, you will lead and oversee scheduling, planning, procurement, and inventory management activities that support efficient manufacturing operations. You will partner across the organization to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, and efficient supply chain processes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead purchasing and inventory activities, including supplier selection, price and terms negotiations, stocking levels, and organization of materials throughout the production floor.
- Manage production schedulers and planners, partnering with Production to understand capacity, establish priorities, and support order fulfillment and sales objectives.
- Oversee the availability, cost, and quality of materials used in production while balancing inventory investment, lead times, and demand.
- Make purchasing and inventory decisions that support competitive pricing, improved inventory turns, reduced lead times, and overall operational efficiency.
- Work directly in the ERP/MRP system to manage demand, inventory levels, purchasing, scheduling, and material requirements.
- Partner with Production Supervisors and Warehouse leadership to maintain accurate, organized, and effective work-cell inventory systems.
- Develop and improve processes related to purchased materials, configured items, procurement, inventory management, and other forward-facing supply chain activities.
- Review operational reports and analyze variances, providing recommendations and explanations to the Director of Operations, Warehouse Manager, and other operations leaders.
- Collaborate with Process Improvement and Quality teams on initiatives designed to improve efficiency, reduce manufacturing costs, and support continuous improvement.
- Partner with Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing on supplier selection for tooling, capital investments, and other production needs.
- Work with Engineering on supplier selection and procurement strategies for new product development and product improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Scheduling, Manufacturing, Marketing, and leadership to establish lead-time and lot-sizing strategies for purchased components, adjusting quantities based on demand and production capacity.
- Support facilities-wide initiatives related to scrap, recycling, and procurement of production consumables.
- Communicate with Sales regarding expedited shipments, material availability, and problem orders to help resolve customer-impacting issues.
- Review reports and use data to identify opportunities to improve supply chain performance, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines strong supply chain expertise with hands-on leadership and the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, purchasing, inventory management, production scheduling, demand planning, and supplier management, along with the ability to analyze data and make sound business decisions.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, along with 2–4 years of related experience and/or training. Experience working in a manufacturing environment and managing both salaried and hourly team members is highly valued.
Leadership Responsibilities
This position provides direct leadership to approximately 15–20 supply chain team members, including schedulers and planners, and works closely with Production, Warehouse, Engineering, Quality, and Operations leadership. The Supply Chain Manager will also provide guidance and feedback to employees and leaders across the organization to support consistent and effective supply chain processes.
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to:
- Maintain the availability, cost, and quality of materials needed for production.
- Improve inventory accuracy, organization, and turns.
- Optimize purchasing and stocking strategies based on demand and capacity.
- Reduce lead times and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Develop consistent, effective processes across supply chain functions.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal business partners.
- Support Rite-Hite’s safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employment policies.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role regularly involves sitting and using hands to handle materials and equipment, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, or balancing. The position may occasionally involve exposure to extreme cold, electrical hazards, and louder production environments.
