As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Director of People Operations to join the leadership team at 1 Hotel Tokyo.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a Human Resources role.

As a trusted advisor to the General Manager and Executive Committee, you will shape the culture of one of the world's most exciting lifestyle luxury brands. You will attract exceptional talent, develop inspiring leaders and create an environment where people flourish.

You will also play an integral role in supporting the continued growth of our brand, helping establish the people foundations that will define the future of 1 Hotels.

What You'll Do:

• Partner with the General Manager and Guidance Team to deliver an exceptional team member experience.
• Create a culture where purpose, wellbeing and performance exist in harmony.
• Attract, develop and retain extraordinary talent.
• Champion leadership development, succession planning and organisational capability.
• Foster an inclusive, engaged and values-driven workplace.
• Ensure best practice across employee relations, compliance and People Operations.
• Lead the implementation, optimisation and ongoing governance of Workday, partnering with regional and global teams to embed world-class people processes.
• Support future growth initiatives and help shape the next chapter of the brand.

About You

You are a people-first leader with the courage to challenge convention and the humility to listen.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Significant senior People Operations leadership experience within luxury hospitality.
• Experience leading teams in Japan or another major Asian gateway city such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Seoul or Shanghai.
• A deep appreciation of Japanese culture and the ability to lead with authenticity, respect and curiosity.
• Experience in hotel openings, organisational transformation or multi-property environments.
• Strong commercial acumen balanced with genuine care for people.
• Experience driving the implementation and ongoing optimisation of Workday.
• Outstanding coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Japanese language skills would be highly regarded, although not essential for the right candidate.
