Description
Under the general supervision of the agency head or designee, an employee in this class is
responsible for supervising the activities of the Systems & Programming personnel engaged in
analysis, evaluation, revision, development and installation of new and improved data processing
methods, procedures, and techniques.
Work requires the development, installation, and maintenance of systems using the knowledge
and application of information systems, data processing, computer programs, and computer
science techniques.Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and reviews the work of Systems and Programming Section staff.
Prepares written reports for the Director on assignment status, project progress, and section activities.
Evaluates section personnel and provides guidance to improve work performance and technical effectiveness.
Recommends new or improved uses of data processing equipment, systems, and related technology.
Establishes and maintains communication with authorized users to identify needs and coordinate data processing services.
Maintains, develops, and modifies computer systems and programs to meet operational requirements.
Conducts and coordinates staff training to support effective system use and technical development.
Evaluates new technical developments and recommends appropriate application to section operations.
Prepares technical and administrative reports as required to document section activities and recommendations.
Performs other related duties as required.Graduation from a recognized college or university and three years experience in Computer Programming and System Design and analysis, including one year in a supervisory capacity.

technical standards, industry practices, user manuals and requirements, and administrative
directives. The incumbent uses judgment to interpret and apply guidelines to systems
development, programming, support, and operational issues.

processing issues. Assignments require determining appropriate methods, testing solutions, and
