Lead the Future of Vacuum and Leak Testing Technology
LACO Technologies is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our multidisciplinary engineering team and help drive the next phase of growth, innovation, and operational excellence. This role is responsible for developing engineers, improving engineering workflows, and ensuring the successful execution of complex customer-driven projects. The ideal candidate is both a strong technical leader and a proven people manager who can mentor engineers at all stages of their careers while building a high-performing engineering organization.

What You'll Do
- Report directly to the Operations Manager and lead a multidisciplinary team of Mechanical and Controls Engineers.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team consisting of Mechanical and Controls Engineers.
- Improve engineering workflow efficiency, project execution, and resource planning.
- Establish accountability, performance expectations, and professional development plans for engineering staff.
- Oversee customer-specific product design activities from concept through manufacturing release and customer implementation.
- Provide systems-level leadership across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, vacuum, and leak testing technologies to ensure integrated solutions meet customer and business requirements.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, Service, and Executive Leadership.
- Drive engineering best practices, standardization, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives.
- Participate in customer design reviews, technical discussions, and project planning activities to ensure successful project execution.
- Support long-term engineering strategy, organizational growth, and technology road maps.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
- 15+ years of engineering experience in industrial equipment, automation, capital equipment, vacuum systems, leak testing systems, or related industries.
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing engineers across multiple experience levels.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong project leadership skills with experience moving products from concept through production.
- Demonstrated success of coaching, mentoring, and developing technical talent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vacuum systems, leak testing systems, or highly engineered custom equipment.
- Strong equipment engineering design background.
- Experience integrating mechanical, electrical, controls, and software disciplines.
- Master’s degree in engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration.
- Experience supporting Aerospace, Automotive, Medical/Pharmaceutical, and other advanced manufacturing industries.

- Salary: $150,000 annually
