Summary :
The Vice President, HR Operations – North Region is the senior HR operations leader responsible for translating the Froedtert ThedaCare System HR strategy into operational execution across the North Region. Reporting to the SVP, HR Operations, this role provides strategic leadership for HR operations, workforce planning, team member relations, labor relations, HR technology, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor to the North Region President and senior leadership team. Operating within a highly matrixed environment, the VP ensures alignment across regional and system priorities, partners closely with HR Centers of Excellence and business leaders, and drives a consistent, integrated team member experience that supports organizational goals, population health initiatives, and value-based care.This leader champions operational excellence, workforce retention, change management, and cultural transformation while fostering collaboration across HR, Legal, Finance, IT, Payroll, Strategy, and other support functions. Key responsibilities include leading HR modernization efforts, supporting One Workday implementation, overseeing team member lifecycle processes, leveraging workforce data to inform decisions, aligning labor relations and union avoidance strategies, and developing high-performing HR Business Partners. The ideal candidate is a mission-driven healthcare HR senior leader with deep expertise in HR operations, change leadership, labor and employee relations, workforce strategy, and organizational effectiveness, who can influence at all levels of the organization and advance Froedtert ThedaCare's mission, vision, and guiding principles through a One System approach.
Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead North Region HR Operations, including strategy execution, service delivery, workforce administration, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with Froedtert ThedaCare's mission, vision, business objectives, and system-wide HR strategy.
- Drive alignment between human capital strategy and business goals by delivering operational excellence, enhancing the team member experience, and partnering with leaders to address current and future workforce needs.
- Operate effectively within a highly matrixed, One System environment, partnering closely with the South Region and system HR leaders to ensure consistent execution of HR strategies, policies, programs, and priorities across the enterprise.
- Serve as the North Region HR leadership integrator, facilitating regular alignment among HR Operations, Human Resources Business Partners, and HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Benefits, Compensation, and Organizational Development) to promote collaboration, reduce silos, and ensure coordinated execution.
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the North Region President and Senior Leadership Team on HR operations, workforce strategy, legal risk, employee relations, labor relations, organizational effectiveness, and workforce challenges.
- Develop and execute regional HR operational strategies, in partnership with the SVP, HR Operations, that support organizational objectives, growth initiatives, workforce planning, and future talent needs.
- Lead and optimize team member lifecycle processes, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, well-being, retention, and offboarding, ensuring a seamless and consistent employee experience.
- Champion HR technology, innovation, and modernization efforts, including leadership and support of major enterprise initiatives such as One Workday and other transformational programs.
- Leverage workforce analytics and data-driven insights to inform decisions, monitor outcomes, identify opportunities, and improve organizational performance.
- Partner with Legal and system HR leadership to develop and execute labor relations strategies, including contract negotiations, employee relations matters, arbitration support, and compliance activities.
- Lead policy implementation, change management, cultural transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives that advance organizational effectiveness and support the evolution of a unified health system.
- Build strong partnerships across enterprise support functions, including IT, Payroll, Finance, Legal, Revenue Cycle, Strategy, and Operations, to successfully implement HR initiatives and business priorities.
- Develop high-performing HR leaders and Human Resources Business Partners, aligned with system expectations, while fostering professional growth, innovation, collaboration, and a service-oriented culture.
- Bring deep healthcare HR expertise, including an understanding of population health, value-based care, workforce trends, and the diverse needs of a multigenerational workforce.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and commitment to lifelong learning, continually identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance technology utilization, and strengthen the impact of HR across the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years of leadership in HR operations in health care, with progressive leadership experience.
- Deep expertise in health care operations and all aspects of HR.
- Exposure and experience in labor and employee relations, including union negotiations, arbitration, and compliance a plus.
- Proven ability to lead change, manage HR technology implementations, innovate, plan and execute. Knowledge of the needs of various generations in the workforce. Ability to influence across all levels of an organization.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions and managing change is a plus.
- Experience preparing and managing budgets.
