The role of Account Manager will involve:

- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for business, marketing and other customer needs.
- Apply solution-oriented selling by analysing customer workflows, challenges and goals and translating these into tailored ZEISS solutions and value propositions.
- Develop strategic account plans and identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.
- Deliver tailored presentations, demonstrations and training based on customer needs, including lenses, instruments, optical knowledge, ordering systems, business and marketing.
- Coordinate with marketing, customer service, product and other supporting teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and effective delivery of customer solutions.
- Provide hands-on support with instruments, software updates and other customer requirements when needed.
- Represent ZEISS at trade shows, training sessions and other relevant events.
- Follow up on business activities affecting the customer base and ensure customers receive appropriate support and communication.
- Plan and execute customer and prospect visits in line with the current sales framework and sales strategy.
- Maintain accurate customer data, opportunity pipelines and activity records in the CRM system, including pre-visit and post-visit reporting.
Your Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Optometry or a closely related field is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a client-facing role, preferably as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager or similar.
- Proven track record of managing and growing customer accounts in a B2B environment.
- Demonstrated success in identifying, targeting and winning new customers through prospecting, pitching and closing sales.
- Experience working with sales pipelines, CRM systems and account-planning tools.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and translate customer and business needs into actionable plans.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver against customer expectations and commercial goals.
- Strong understanding of account management, customer success and sales processes.
- Strong solution-selling, negotiation, presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial mindset with a focus on both customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and performance-tracking metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office, together with basic IT skills and familiarity with common office software.
- Fluency in Swedish, Danish, Finnish or Norwegian and English, both written and spoken, is required.
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
It would be desirable if you had:
- Previous experience in the optical industry.
- Knowledge of the optical market, products, technologies and customer workflows.
- Experience delivering customer training, business consulting or supporting customers with instruments and software.
