Position Summary
The Senior Buyer / Planner is a critical role in our Procurement team, orchestrating the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process to optimize the acquisition and flow of materials & services within our manufacturing & corporate operations. The role involves converting requisitions into purchase orders (POs), liaising with suppliers, managing supplier acknowledgements, ensuring on-time delivery, and overseeing the entire invoicing process, including the critical 3-way match. The role’s focus on detail and efficiency will be crucial in guaranteeing timely and accurate supplier payments.
Job Duties / Key Accountabilities
- Process requisitions, purchase orders and price change requests.
- Own tracking of purchase orders from delivery of Purchase Order (PO) via supplier acknowledgements to receipt of material or service and associated invoice documentation.
- Coordinate scheduling of orders based on material lead times and arrival dates.
- Create and maintain part pricing catalogs
- Provide support in resolving invoice price variances.
- Take the lead on process improvement initiatives, as assigned.
- Maintain positive business relationships with both internal customers and suppliers.
- Support the end users with questions regarding the standard Oracle practices.
- Ability to influence business decisions to support SG Procurement objectives, initiatives, and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills to understand procurement transactions, trends, and supply market conditions.
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the business.
- Verifies goods/services received as compared to purchase orders; resolves any discrepancies.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the Procurement Department.
Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field a plus. Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of purchasing experience with a manufacturing background.
- 5+ years of experience working with ERP systems and related business data warehouses.
- Excel knowledge using pivot tables, v-look ups, and standard formulas.
- 5+ years of analytical experience
- Critical thinking
Desired
- Experience with Oracle iProcurement & Oracle ERP
