About the role
Senior Regulatory & Compliance Advisor
Join AGL's Governance & Assurance team as a Senior Regulatory & Compliance Advisor, and help shape customer-focused outcomes through expert regulatory guidance and compliance advice across the retail energy market.
In this influential role, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure regulatory obligations are understood, managed and embedded into key initiatives. Acting as a trusted subject matter expert, you'll provide practical, commercially focused advice on complex and emerging regulatory matters while supporting a strong culture of compliance.
Key accountabilities of this role
Provide strategic regulatory and compliance advice across Customer Markets initiatives, balancing risk, customer outcomes and commercial objectives.
Partner with stakeholders to implement, monitor and manage compliance with evolving regulatory obligations.
Lead investigations, regulatory enquiries and compliance incident resolution to drive effective business outcomes.
Oversee external regulatory reporting requirements and associated internal compliance reporting.
Act as a trusted subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex regulatory matters and supporting external audits.
Champion a strong compliance culture through stakeholder engagement, education, coaching and capability uplift across the business.
Qualifications, key skills and experience required
Experience in a regulatory or compliance role, ideally within the retail energy sector.
Strong analytical and legal interpretation skills, with the ability to translate complex regulations into practical business outcomes.
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and influence outcomes within a complex and evolving environment.
Commercially minded with a strategic approach to regulatory compliance and risk management.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience partnering across the business to deliver compliance initiatives and drive best-practice outcomes.
