Department Overview
While part of the Rakuten Group, you will be responsible for Revenue Controlling at the Rakuten Symphony CFO Office. You will be assigned to the CFO Office within the Rakuten Symphony Financial Management Department.
Rakuten Group is currently focusing on expanding its Rakuten Symphony business, which provides virtual/cloud mobile network solutions developed through Rakuten Mobile business to customers around the world. In this sense Our team is establishing global system to support rapid business expansion in terms of managerial accounting and business decision making. As a member of Rakuten Symphony Finance team within the CFO Office, this position in addition to Revenue Controlling responsibilities will involve participating in various projects within the business, working with overseas group companies to perform a wide range of tasks, from planning and building new systems and improvement activities. Since our business is mainly focused on overseas markets, it provides opportunity to experience and professionally grow in a global and dynamic environment.

Why We Hire
We are hiring to strengthen and enhance Revenue Controlling operations, revenue assurance, financial reviews of projects with the sales team, and management of the revenue order backlog.
Position Details
・Report on Project P&L across processes such as Sales Tollgate (budget) and weekly forecast
・Review and approve deals during the sales tollgate process based on the finance checklist and Project P&L.
・Manage, report on and analyze monthly Revenue Backlog and the commitment and actuals data required for it
・Generate and report on revenue performance (Budget vs Forecast/Actuals), including variance and key-driver analysis
・Partner with Sales and Business Unit heads on revenue budgeting and forecasting, financial review of deals, Revenue Assurance and improvement of processes/data requiring finance inputs.
・Design, introduce, and continuously improve Revenue Controlling, managerial accounting, reporting processes, systems and KPIs via tools such as Anaplan, including data quality, reconciliation and accuracy
・Other Revenue Controlling and CFO Office tasks based on changing business needs
Mandatory Qualifications:
・3-5 years or more of practical experience in accounting and finance
・General knowledge of management accounting (particularly knowledge and practical experience in sales management, budget, actual results, and forecast management, as well as variance analysis)
・Experience using or implementing forecasting and revenue management tools (such as Anaplan and Adaptive Planning)
・Advanced expertise in MS Excel and PowerPoint
・Candidates who can comfortably participate in video conferences with accounting and finance team members overseas, prepare documents, and communicate via email
・Can think and act independently rather than waiting for instructions
・Can learn on their own, and motivated and proactive for their work
・Value teamwork
・Communication skills, skills to organize and coordinate the intentions of many stakeholders
・Skills to accurately prioritize multiple important issues and complete tasks by deadline even during peak business hours
Desired Qualifications:
・Experience in managing overseas subsidiaries, working in a global company, or working overseas
・Business experience in the telecommunications industry and IT industry
・Knowledge of accounting standards and taxation in Japan/Singapore/USA/Germany/India
