Description
As a Senior Insights Analyst, you will serve as a strategic analytics partner to Reuters Editorial, Product, Agency Sales, and AI teams. You will transform complex data into clear, actionable insights that improve content performance, customer engagement, product strategy, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
About the Role
- Partner with Editorial, Product, Sales, AI, Technology, Data Science, Customer Success, and Commercial teams to support strategic decision-making.
- Analyze large-scale structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets, including content, text, metadata, customer usage, digital product, and operational data.
- Identify trends, opportunities, risks, anomalies, and measurable business impacts across products, workflows, and customer segments.
- Develop and maintain KPI frameworks, dashboards, executive reporting, and self-service analytics solutions.
- Define success metrics, measurement methodologies, and reporting standards for products, workflows, automation, and AI-enabled initiatives.
- Conduct exploratory, descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analysis to answer complex business questions.
- Use advanced analytical approaches such as NLP, text mining, semantic search, metadata analysis, classification, clustering, forecasting, anomaly detection, and machine learning where appropriate.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and Large Language Models—including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini—to improve research, analysis, reporting, and insight-generation workflows.
- Design and execute benchmarking studies, proof-of-concept analyses, product evaluations, and performance assessments for emerging technologies and business initiatives.
- Monitor product adoption, customer usage patterns, metadata quality, productivity gains, workflow efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Perform detailed content and metadata quality assessments to identify data gaps, inconsistencies, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Build scalable analytical processes and reporting frameworks that enable stakeholders to access timely, reliable insights independently.
- Translate complex technical analyses into concise, executive-level recommendations and compelling data stories.
- Ensure data integrity through validation, governance, quality assurance, and ongoing monitoring processes.
- Support ad hoc business questions, operational reporting, and strategic projects with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
- Continuously improve analytics methodologies, reporting automation, and insight-generation capabilities.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Management, or a related analytical discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, insights, or a related field.
- Strong experience working with large-scale datasets, including content, metadata, customer behavior, usage metrics, digital product analytics, or operational data.
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
- Experience building dashboards, KPI reporting, and executive-level visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar BI platforms.
- Proven ability to translate business questions into measurable analytical frameworks, KPIs, and actionable insights.
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups, including product, commercial, technology, editorial, and customer-facing teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Experience using AI-powered productivity and analytics tools to enhance reporting, research, analysis, and workflow efficiency.
- Experience in content analytics, metadata analysis, customer usage analytics, digital product performance, or large-scale business data environments.
- Experience applying advanced analytics techniques such as NLP, text analytics, classification, clustering, forecasting, anomaly detection, semantic search, or machine learning.
- Familiarity with Generative AI and LLM tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
- Understanding of AI evaluation methodologies, AI adoption measurement, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and semantic search concepts.
- Experience developing KPI frameworks and success metrics for products, workflow optimization, automation, or AI-enabled solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, and modern analytics ecosystems.
- Knowledge of Reuters, financial news, information services, media, or other content-driven business environments.
- Strong problem-solving ability, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Strong dashboard design and data storytelling skills, with the ability to create interactive reports that clearly communicate insights.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive, flexible, and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and deliver accurate work under deadlines.
- Interest in news, current affairs, media industry trends, digital products, and emerging technologies.
