Primary Functions (What)

• Manage customer delivery exceptions.
• Ensure production schedule is set up for success.
• Manage all materials through our building from entry to exit.

What Success Looks Like (How)

The Planning and Purchasing Manager role is responsible for managing forecasts from customers, and working with the sales group for those customers without forecasts to ensure order completeness. The Planning and Purchasing Manager will compare actual sales order history to forecasts to measure accuracy of forecast and projected inventory demand to actual inventory demand. The Planning and Purchasing Manager will then review and communicate any noted discrepancies with the sales and production groups to make adjustments. This role will be responsible for reviewing inventory levels that have had little or no activity for both raw and finished goods, and will communicate that information to the sales and production groups to determine correct inventory levels. The Planning and Purchasing Manager will maintain and set production schedules.

Desired Qualifications

• Must have a grasp of basic mathematical principals and comprehend calculations made in a standard MRPII/ERP system.
• Ability to problem solve, while understanding the impact to the organization as a whole. It is necessary to create solutions by determining root causes and gathering all available information to make educated decisions. Must be able to analyze demand and balance against capacity and make timely decisions.
• Bachelors degree
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with materials management experience and the willingness to continue education in material field
• APICS certification

Approximately: 60% Office, 40% Production Floor

• Planning/Purchasing: 5 years (Preferred)
• Management : 3 years (Preferred)
