Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Elk Horn, Iowa.

 

He/she must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, with experience in Kofax, Lawson, Perceptive, and/or Workday being a bonus (although not required).

 

Responsibilities:

• Communicate courteously and respectfully with vendors, field employees (ranging from drivers to General Managers), and Corporate Leadership via email and/or verbally.
• Accurately perform data entry for incoming invoices, demonstrating a strong attention to detail.
• Manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced office environment, meeting deadlines consistently.
• Possess basic accounting knowledge and understanding of banking processes and procedures.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and process invoices using a PO system or coding expenses accordingly.
• Handle sorting and distribution of daily incoming mail.
• Exhibit flexibility and prioritize tasks as requested.
• Demonstrate strong time management skills.
• Conduct petty cash reconciliation and manage credit card payments and reconciliation.
• Review invoices for appropriate approval and accuracy.
• Display eagerness to learn all duties within the department to serve as backup for existing staff.

Qualifications

Additional Information: Our department consists of nine dedicated team members, processing over 10,000 invoices per month. We utilize various programs for processing, including the Kofax imaging system, Lawson accounting, and Perceptive (ImageNow). The role can be fast-paced and hectic at times, requiring the ability to maintain a friendly and upbeat attitude amidst distractions. You may be responsible for your own duties as well as serving as the primary backup for several other positions. This position is based in Elk Horn, Iowa, offering full-time hours (40 hours per week) with three days in the office and two days working from home after training is complete.
