At EEI, we believe in doing things the right way, with excellence, integrity, and genuine care for our people. As an employee-owned company, our People First culture is rooted in trust, accountability, and shared success.

As a Sr. Electrical Specialist for EEI's Mission Critical team, you will lead complex commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation activities for electrical systems in data centers and other high-reliability facilities. You will work closely with project leadership, clients, contractors, and technical team members to help deliver reliable, high-quality commissioning outcomes.

In this role, you will guide field execution, support complex functional performance testing, drive issue resolution, and mentor developing electrical commissioning professionals. This position is ideal for an experienced electrical commissioning professional who enjoys solving complex field challenges, leading project-level execution, and helping teams succeed in mission-critical environments.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex commissioning, testing, and verification activities for electrical systems supporting mission-critical facilities and data centers.
  • Guide field execution, functional performance testing, startup support, and closeout activities across assigned electrical scopes.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical system issues and drive practical resolution with project teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Review drawings, specifications, trend data, test results, and system information to evaluate readiness and performance.
  • Communicate commissioning status, risks, findings, and recommendations clearly with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Mentor Electrical Specialists and Electrical Support team members through field coaching, documentation review, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to safe, reliable, and high-quality project delivery in fast-paced mission-critical environments.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced working knowledge of power distribution systems, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, controls, and related electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, technical documentation, trend data, and system information.
  • Advanced understanding of MEP systems, controls, and integrated building operations.
  • Ability to lead assigned commissioning activities, guide field execution, and escalate complex technical or project issues appropriately.
  • Strong troubleshooting, quality assurance, communication, documentation, coordination, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and commissioning documentation tools or project software.
  • Currently authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, and/or a related field; equivalent foundational experience through a trade program, military service, or field commissioning experience will be considered.
  • Experience leading commissioning activities in data centers, mission-critical facilities, healthcare facilities, building automation systems, controls integration, or high-reliability environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting functional performance testing, equipment startup, issue tracking, commissioning documentation, or project closeout activities.
  • Relevant certification or active interest in professional development related to commissioning, building performance, or mission-critical operations.

Certifications

  • PE, LEED, CxA, PMP, and/or other equivalent certifications strongly preferred.
