About the Role:
Brooks is seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain to join us at our Greenfield Semiconductor manufacturing plant in Johor Bahru, Malaysia as we accelerate our growth journey in the region. The Supply Chain Director will lead the Malaysia Supply Chain organization in addition to serving as a key contributor to the Operations Management organization.
You will lead and establish the supply chain operations for our new semiconductor manufacturing site in Malaysia including strategic planning, implementation, and management of end-to-end supply chain processes to support our greenfield project. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the semiconductor industry and a proven track record in supply chain management, ensuring seamless operations from sourcing to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business growth, customer demand, and operational objectives.
- Drive supply chain excellence through process standardization, best practices, digitalization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a key member of the Malaysia Operations leadership team, supporting business planning and decision-making.
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Lead global and regional sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials.
- Drive supplier localization initiatives, value engineering programs, and cost reduction projects.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, long-term supply contracts, pricing, and supplier performance expectations.
- Work closely with Global Commodity teams to develop and implement Kanban programs and other replenishment programs to achieve targeted inventory turns.
Planning & Materials Management
- Oversee demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, capacity planning, and material availability.
- Ensure achievement of service levels, inventory targets, and production continuity.
- Lead escalation management for material shortages and supply disruptions.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPI scorecards covering delivery, quality, responsiveness, capacity, and forecast commitments.
- Lead corrective action and risk mitigation activities for underperforming suppliers.
Logistics & Operations Support
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics strategies to support global manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Optimize freight, warehousing, transportation costs, and trade compliance practices.
- Ensure effective execution of global supply chain networks.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies across all supply chain activities.
Cost & Efficiency Management
- Develop and execute supply chain cost reduction strategies while maintaining service, quality, and delivery performance.
- Identify and implement productivity improvement opportunities through process optimization, automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement programs.
- Drive inventory optimization initiatives to improve inventory turns, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and optimize working capital. Internal warehouse leadership roles emphasize managing aging, excess, and obsolete inventory with Supply Chain and Finance.
- Optimize transportation networks, packaging material and flow to reduce lead time, logistics costs, and operational waste.
- Own supply chain budget planning, forecasting, and expenditure control, ensuring alignment with business financial objectives.
Quality, Audit & Compliance Leadership
- Develop and implement Supply Chain quality strategies aligned with corporate Quality Management System (QMS), customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Partner with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to drive a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
- Ensure successful completion of customer, certification, internal, and external audits.
- Lead customer audit readiness activities and ensure supply chain compliance evidence is maintained and readily available.
- Maintain compliance with:
➢ISO Quality Standards
➢Customer-specific requirements
➢Ethical sourcing requirements
➢Environmental, Health & Safety regulations
Risk Management & Business Continuity
- Develop supply chain risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Lead contingency planning for geopolitical, supplier, capacity, and logistics risks.
- Support business continuity planning to minimize operational disruptions. Utilise data analytics to monitor supply chain performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Financial & Performance Management
- Manage supply chain budgets, inventory investment, PPV savings, working capital, and productivity initiatives.
- Drive measurable improvements in:
➢Cost savings
➢Inventory turns
➢On-time delivery
➢Supplier performance
➢Material availability
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Degree in Supply Chain / Business Administration or a related field with at least 15 years of Supply Chain Leadership experience
- Thorough knowledge and a deep understanding of Semiconductor supply chain dynamics, including procurement, logistics, and supplier management (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing supply chain teams, with a proven track record of delivering results.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with the ability to align supply chain activities with business goals.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, local, regional & global
- Ability to influence the decision-making process and outcome through detailed analysis/models, innovative recommendations, and demonstration of expertise
- Capable of managing cross-functional project teams to generate material value across multiple product lines
- Proficiency in supply chain technologies and ERP applications, Oracle Cloud/SAP S4 Hana is a must-have.
