Head of Enterprise Data Strategy - IT Transformation

Our client is a well-known conglomerate that is investing in a new data strategy to transform its business and now needs to recruit a leader to drive this initiative.

About the Role

Reporting to the CIO, you will serve as the executive owner of the organization’s data strategy and target enterprise architecture. In this capacity, you will define the long‑term vision for how data, analytics, AI, and core technology platforms are leveraged to create business value, manage risk, and drive digital transformation. You will act as the primary authority on data strategy and enterprise architecture, ensuring that technology investments, data platforms, and AI initiatives remain tightly aligned with corporate priorities, regulatory requirements, and the organization’s operating model. The role is responsible for shaping and maintaining a coherent, scalable, and secure data and technology landscape, including setting the enterprise‑wide data strategy, owning the target data and application architectures, and leading the governance frameworks that keep business, IT, and data teams working to a common set of standards and road maps. You will work closely with the executive team and business unit leaders to translate corporate strategy into a clear and actionable data and technology agenda, providing thought leadership on data monetization, AI adoption, digital channel optimization, and risk reduction, and helping non‑technical stakeholders understand how data and architecture decisions influence long‑term competitiveness.

 

The successful candidate

• 15+ years of progressive experience across data, analytics and/or architecture roles in complex organizations, including 8+ years in senior leadership owning enterprise data platforms, data strategy or data architecture functions
• Proven track record in modernizing and operating large‑scale data platforms integrating them into wider application and enterprise landscapes to support analytics, reporting and AI use cases
• Deep hands‑on understanding of core data architecture disciplines, including data modelling, integration, data pipelines, metadata management, data quality and master data management
• Ability to define and govern enterprise data models and standards, shape conceptual and logical models for complex domains and oversee implementation of scalable, secure data pipelines for both batch and real‑time scenarios
• Having consulting background will be a major plus
• Proven ability to translate business strategy into an integrated data roadmap and operating model, including prioritization and investment decisions for enterprise data initiatives
• Good command in Chinese and English
