IT Applications Specialist

Description

The Spine Hospital of Louisiana seeks a skilled, dependable, solutions-focused IT Applications Specialist to support our MEDITECH Expanse electronic health record (EHR) and other healthcare applications. You’ll work closely with clinical and administrative teams to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and keep essential applications working effectively.

What You’ll Do

• Provide daily support and troubleshoot issues with MEDITECH Expanse and other assigned applications
• Assist physicians, nurses, and staff with application questions and workflow concerns
• Maintain approved application configurations and document changes
• Coordinate with MEDITECH and other vendors to resolve issues
• Participate in testing and implementing application updates and enhancements
• Help train users and develop application reference materials
• Investigate application data and integration issues with the appropriate IT teams
• Prioritize support requests based on their impact on patient care and hospital operations

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of experience in a healthcare information technology environment
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of hospital operations, clinical workflows, and patient information confidentiality
• Effective communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with hospital staff, IT personnel, and vendors

Preferred

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, healthcare informatics, computer science, or a related field
• Experience supporting MEDITECH or another EHR system
• Experience with EHR troubleshooting, application configuration, user support, and clinical workflows

Schedule: We will discuss schedule and shift details during the interview process. 

Scheduled after-hours support may be required for critical incidents, implementations, or system changes.
