Director of Programs and Student Experience, Baratta Center for Global Business Education | McDonough School of Business - Georgetown University

The Baratta Center for Global Business Education is Georgetown McDonough School of Business’s premier hub for training future global leaders at the intersection of business, policy, geopolitics, and technological change. This role leads the full student experience — designing and serving as the operational lead for the co-curricular programs, immersive global experiences, practitioner convenings, and internship placements that make the Baratta Center’s training transformative. It is a senior, high-ownership, entrepreneurial role with direct accountability to the Executive Director.

Work Interactions

The Director for Programs & Student Experience is the senior leader responsible for the Baratta Center's co-curricular programming portfolio, reporting directly to the Executive Director.  In close collaboration with the Executive Director, this role has ownership of what students experience as members of the Baratta Center community — from ideation and curriculum design through execution, assessment, and continuous improvement. It is a consequential role with high ambition and significant scope for creativity and innovation.

Much of the Center's programming involves bringing corporate leaders, practitioners, government officials, and global executives into direct engagement with students — as instructors, case study subjects, mentors, and speakers. The Director works in close partnership with the Associate Director for External Relations to ensure that the right external voices are embedded in the right program formats. The Director leads the design and delivery of program; the External Relations AD leads the corporate relationship and the ask. These two roles are in constant collaboration.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent advanced degree;

• 5-7 years of experience, ideally with private sector experience (eg consulting, corporate strategy, finance, or a related field) and exposure to public sector, policy, or government environments through work experience, graduate study, or sustained professional engagement.

• Demonstrated track record of designing and executing multi-stakeholder programs from concept through execution at a level of seniority commensurate with a director role.

• Substantive knowledge of, or professional engagement with, geopolitics or international business.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to design curriculum, write intellectually rigorous program materials, and facilitate senior-level conversations.

• Proven ability to work with significant autonomy and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.

• Deep familiarity with AI tools, proficiency with MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel.

• Experience designing or running programs in an academic, think tank, policy institute, or institutional setting preferred

• Teaching or facilitation experience in a professional or academic setting preferred

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with exceptional relevant experience considered.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$80,429.00 - $157,238.93

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
