Job Description

Provide expert assistance to faculty and instructors by planning, designing, and developing high-quality and effective digital education content. Support the pedagogic transformation of digital education within the university; work with faculty to select the appropriate strategies, software, and technology required to meet the desired learning outcomes. Provide assistance in the creation and facilitation of faculty and staff educational opportunities related to the proper use of digital learning technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist and support faculty in the development of online courses utilizing available learning technologies.
• Provide development support to faculty in course redesign for effective digital education.
• Support the identification, exploration and implementation of technologies that aid the advancement of program and institutional goals
• Collaborate with the LMS administrator to refine, improve, and innovate processes related to digital education.
• Participate in faculty, staff, and student training and development of guides and informational resources.
• Experiment with and remain current in new and emerging technologies, including software, hardware, mobile, and cloud technologies that can enhance digital education.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to faculty and students as it pertains to the LMS (Canvas) and other technologies used for teaching and learning.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related experience in instructional design.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Knowledge of online course design principles and practices. 
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and instructional technologies.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to present information clearly and concisely.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in instructional/educational technology or related field
• Four years demonstrated experience with design and delivery of effective digital education initiatives
• Demonstrated experience with universal design for learning, and WCAG2.1AA
• Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design models, theories, and principles.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Experience with
  • Canvas or similar LMS
  • Open education resources (OER)
  • Adult learning principles
  • Course quality assessment rubrics such as OSCQR and QM
• Familiarity with multimedia design principles
• Experience working with multimedia and course-authoring tools (Camtasia, Adobe Cloud, Captivate, Storyline, etc.)

Other Requirements

• Effective verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Effective problem-solving, digital literacy, AI literacy and self-directed learning skills.
•  Experience with project management and managing multiple priorities effectively.
