Production Manager – Receiving
Pay: $65,000–$75,000 per year
Schedule: 1st Shift, 6am-2:30pm
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee operations within the Receiving department. This position is responsible for coordinating daily production activities, supervising employees, managing workflow, ensuring production schedules are met, and maintaining quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have manufacturing leadership experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively manage people and production priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of employees within the Receiving/Production department.
- Analyze work orders and production requirements to develop schedules that meet internal and customer needs.
- Determine material and supply requirements based on production schedules.
- Assign work and communicate job requirements and expectations to employees.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Monitor production activities and ensure products meet quality specifications.
- Direct employees in adjusting equipment and processes to maintain quality standards.
- Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Analyze and resolve production problems and assist employees with troubleshooting.
- Create and maintain work instructions and procedures as needed.
- Monitor department processes and ensure compliance with established requirements.
- Train, coach, and provide direction to employees.
- Plan and assign work while monitoring employee performance.
- Address employee concerns, complaints, and performance issues.
- Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Communicate production, quality, and operational issues to upper management.
- Participate in meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental programs.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of manufacturing supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience supervising and leading manufacturing employees.
- Strong leadership and delegation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work instructions, schedules, and business documents.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with management and other departments.
