The role with us

• The Senior Corporate Affairs Specialist – Campaigns delivers integrated campaigns that support Telstra’s strategy, strengthen reputation and build trust with key stakeholders over time.
• Working as part of the Campaigns team, the role combines communications, stakeholder engagement and issues-led thinking, bringing strong execution together with insight-led planning.
• The Specialist partners closely with Business Engagement Leads and Corporate Affairs teams to deliver campaigns that are connected to the enterprise narrative, aligned to priority outcomes and executed with impact.

Important note: while our preference is for this role to be based in Melbourne, VIC or Sydney, NSW, we welcome applications from candidates across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Development and Delivery

• Support the development and execution of integrated Corporate Affairs campaigns aligned to enterprise priorities and CF30 outcomes
• Translate strategic objectives into clear campaign approaches, messaging frameworks and content plans
• Deliver campaigns end-to-end across internal, external and stakeholder audiences

Integrated Communications, Stakeholder and Campaign Execution

• Deliver campaigns that bring together communications, stakeholder and influence approaches in a coordinated way
• Work closely with Public Affairs and stakeholder teams to ensure alignment on advocacy, engagement and narrative
• Contribute to campaigns that build understanding, trust and influence over time

Content, Creative and Channel Integration

• Develop high-quality, audience-led content across employee, digital, social, media and stakeholder channels
• Work closely with creative and production teams embedded in Campaigns to deliver ideas-led, channel-agnostic outputs
• Ensure creative and channel thinking is integrated from the start of campaign development

Stakeholder Collaboration and Business Partnering

• Partner with Business Engagement Leads and internal stakeholders to understand priorities and campaign requirements
• Work across Corporate Affairs disciplines (media, employee comms, public affairs, sustainability) to deliver integrated outcomes
• Contribute to clear, coordinated execution across teams, removing duplication and confusion on accountability

Insights, Planning and Optimisation

• Apply audience insight, stakeholder context and data to inform campaign planning and targeting
• Monitor campaign performance and engagement, identifying opportunities to optimise impact
• Support a more deliberate, insight-led approach to influencing audiences over time

Issues Management and Reputation Stewardship

• Proactively identify and assess reputational risks, emerging issues and external signals relevant to campaigns and business priorities
• Apply issue-led thinking to shape campaign messaging, ensuring risks are anticipated and addressed early
• Lead the execution of integrated Corporate Affairs responses to issues, working closely with Business engagement, Media & Issues and stakeholder teams
• Contribute to clear, coordinated and timely responses across campaigns, channels and stakeholder engagement
• Ensure messaging is consistent, accurate and aligned to the enterprise narrative in both proactive and reactive situations

About You

• Strong communication and content development skills, with the ability to simplify complex messages
• Solid campaign planning and delivery experience across multiple channels
• Understanding of stakeholder engagement and how communications support influence
• Analytical mindset, using data and insight to inform decisions
• Collaborative and outcome-focused, working effectively across teams and disciplines
• Brings curiosity, creativity and ideas-first thinking
• Comfortable working at pace and adapting to changing priorities
• Takes ownership and delivers with discipline and attention to detail

Qualifications/Certifications

• Experience in corporate communications, campaigns, public affairs or related fields
• Experience delivering integrated communications or campaigns in a complex environment
• Exposure to stakeholder, media or issues management
