We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead – Full‑Stack Web Development to lead the design, development, and technical direction of secure, scalable, and high‑quality software solutions for healthcare and medical device environments.

In this role, you will provide end‑to‑end technical leadership across frontend (Angular) and backend (Node.js and/or ASP.NET), delivering applications that support both cloud‑based and on‑premise deployments. You will work closely with Product Management, Architect, Quality, and Clinical SMEs to ensure solutions meet ZEISS quality, security, and regulatory standards.

The Technical Lead is responsible for architectural ownership, engineering excellence, mentoring teams, and enabling predictable, high‑quality delivery in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Provide technical leadership to ensure implementation aligns with the defined architecture, working closely with Architects on design decisions and trade‑offs.
• Define frontend and backend design principles ensuring scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Contribute to system architecture supporting hybrid deployment models (cloud and on‑premise).
• Ensure solutions align with ZEISS architecture principles, cybersecurity guidelines, and quality standards.

Full‑Stack Development & Engineering Excellence

• Lead hands‑on development across Angular (TypeScript, modern UI frameworks) and backend services using Node.js and/or ASP.NET.
• Guide integration with RESTful APIs, backend services, and system or device interfaces.
• Establish and enforce best practices for coding standards, testing, performance optimization, and secure development.
• Perform design and code reviews; mentor engineers and raise the overall technical maturity of the team.

Quality, Compliance & Security

• Ensure software development complies with medical device and healthcare regulations.
• Support adherence to IEC 62304, ISO 13485, cybersecurity, and data privacy requirements.
• Collaborate closely with QA and regulatory stakeholders to ensure audit‑ready documentation, traceability, and risk management.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA, DevOps, and Clinical SMEs.
• Provide technical input for planning, estimation, dependency management, and technical risk mitigation.
• Act as a technical escalation point and guide teams through complex technical challenges.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in full‑stack web application development.
• Proven experience in a Technical Lead or Senior Technical role.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Angular and modern frontend development.
• Solid experience with backend technologies such as Node.js and/or ASP.NET.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system integration.
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated environments such as medical devices or healthcare software.
• Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, HIPAA, and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Exposure to Azure cloud technologies and hybrid architectures.
• Knowledge of healthcare IT standards such as DICOM, FHIR or HL7.
