Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Systems Administrator 2, under general supervision, maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers and virtualization
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers and integrate automation processes
- Keep systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary upgrades and repairs
- Assigning and updating security permissions for the system network
- Support desktop and helpdesk efforts ensuring desktop applications, workstations and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
- Provide support of assigned systems through troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software, and connectivity problems
- Act as a knowledge expert for assigned systems and distributed applications
- Collaborate with IT customers to ensure issues related to assigned systems are communicated appropriately
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen,
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration or Computer Engineering
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 5+ years of system administration experience, database, or network administration
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Server products (such as Windows Server, Sharepoint, SQL Server, IIS, DFS etc.) and administrative applications.
- Experience with Enterprise-level VMWare, Veeam (or similar backup package) and SAN solutions.
- General working knowledge of applications such as: Oracle RDMS, Linux, Microsoft Office, Office 365, Azure as well as Networking, Switches, Firewalls, and IP phone systems a plus
- Knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware and networking protocols
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to servers and networking and connectivity.
- The incumbent should fully understand the role of computer networking and Information Technology in a manufacturing organization.
- Must have the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
- Windows Server or Azure certification is a plus
Travel: Travel may occur on an infrequent basis.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, but must have ability to work the number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays and weekends, as necessary.
Safety Training: A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system. Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee’s position.
Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.
