Description
The Quality Specialist is responsible for root cause and corrective action investigation, internal audits, inspection coverage during gaps and absences, disposition of nonconforming material, and calibration support as needed. This role does not have direct reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide floor-level guidance on quality compliance as encountered during inspection backfill, audits, or RCCA/CAPA work.
- Follow and support GRT's Mission and Quality Policy.
- Lead root cause investigation and complete CAPA documentation for customer complaints, recurring production issues, and internal audit findings, from opening through verified closure.
- Serve as backup inspector at Main Plant and East Plant during shift gaps and absences, performing inspection duties per the Quality Inspector expectations for each location.
- Maintain the internal audit schedule in coordination with the Quality Manager, conduct internal audits, and complete all related audit paperwork.
- Provide calibration support as defined by the Quality Manager.
- Communicate with multiple departments as needed.
- Disposition nonconforming material and provide feedback on trends to the Quality Manager.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must have prior manufacturing experience.
- Must have prior Quality experience.
- Must possess computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the ability to organize electronic documents.
- Ability to interpret drawings is required.
- Ability to use inspection tools (tape measure and calipers) is required.
- Experience leading or directly supporting root cause and corrective action (RCCA/CAPA) investigations is required.
- Experience in a position demonstrating strong communication skills is preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 internal audit requirements is preferred.
- Experience supporting a calibration program is preferred.
- Must be available for overtime and weekends when necessary.
- Company policy requires the use of safety equipment including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, protective sleeves, cutting gloves, and safety toe shoes.
Working Conditions:
The employee must have the ability to stand for up to 12 hours a day. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Some weekends, evening hours, night hours, and callouts are sometimes necessary.
