BASIC PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
This position is the quality function owner to oversee and manage the Total Quality Management process of all Product Suppliers under HOT-APO, across the Product Categories of a Business Unit.
Product categories : Health & Home products, Housewares products or Beauty products
Supplier base : China, Vietnam, Taiwan and other Asia Pacific countries
In supporting the quality management strategy, to define and implement the detailed work processes, assess and monitor supplier performance and drive for continuous improvement
- Aid to harmonize the quality management strategy & framework across BUs
- In-charge and manage the operations of APO QE & QC Team, with operational responsibility covers,
- New supplier quality assessment
- Regular supplier quality audit
- New product risk assessment and production process validation, achieving Built-in Quality
- Supplier quality management (QC & QA)
- Pre-shipment quality inspection
- Secure the quality of delivered product
- Fulfil customers requirement on pre-shipment product inspection (e.g. Walmart, Costco, Delonghi, JGA, THD, Newsan, . . .)
- Production and After-sales quality incident analysis and resolution
- Develop supplier quality capability to cope with business needs
- Alert management on adverse quality situation on supplier and trigger remedy actions
Core Accountabilities:
- Define, plan and deploy quality work processes, with due alignment with BU Quality team and suppliers
- Prepare quality KPIs, monitor and review suppliers performance and drive on continuous improvement
- Quality engineering support in NPD covering PFMEA, Control Plan and Manufacturing Readiness Review
- QC (PSI) & QE support after Mass Production to secure the delivery quality of products
- Lead and resolve production and field quality incidents with RCA / 8D / SCAR
- Alert management on adverse quality situation on supplier and trigger remedy actions
- Identify supplier development needs, with plan, action and review
- Quality training to upgrade the quality competence of self, QC, QE and suppliers
- Close interaction and regular review with BU Quality teams to achieve business needs
Education, Qualification and training
- Bachelor degree in engineering (Electrical/ Electronic/Mechanical/Industrial) or equivalent
Experience or skills required
- More than 8 years relevant experience in quality or engineering with min 3 years in management role (MNC preferred)
- Solid experience in supplier quality management / development with successful turn-around examples
- Experience in supplier management / development
- Product experience in electrical appliances, electronics or consumer products Effective problem solving, root cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change
- Experience in working with prominent international brands
- Proven track record in team management and people competency development
- Ability to work in highly competing industrial environment, with strong desire to WIN ; Ability to drive and lead changes
- Strong personal leadership & be self-initiative ; strong analytical, problem solving, coaching, interpersonal & communication skills
- Fluent English and Chinese communication
Specialized knowledge or skills required
- Knowledge and experience in quality management standards/tools, e.g. ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO17025, TS16949, GMP, APQP, FMEA, LEAN, 8-D, 6 Sigma.
- Knowledge on international / national regulations and directives, e.g. FDA, FCC, UL, RoHS, REACH, Prop65, TPCH.
- Ability to interpret and understand 3rd party Lab Test Report and QMS Audit Report
