A Snapshot
The Technical Specialist - Finance is responsible for the operational support, configuration, and enhancement of Finance systems and solutions. Reporting to the Service Owner, this role provides advanced technical support , manages Level 1 and 2 service requests and incidents, and delivers small changes and updates. The Technical Specialist ensures systems are stable, secure, and optimised, while maintaining high-quality documentation and contributing to the knowledge base to support continuous improvement and user enablement.
Your Day to Day
Operational Support & Service Delivery
- Provide Level 1 and 2 support for incidents and service requests, escalating where necessary.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with Service Desk and other support teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.
System Configuration & Maintenance
- Perform system configuration and parameter updates in line with approved change processes.
- Support patching, upgrades, and minor enhancements.
- Maintain system integrity and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.
Change Delivery & Testing
- Deliver small-scale changes and enhancements in collaboration with business and technical teams.
- Conduct unit testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT) as required.
- Ensure changes are documented and deployed in accordance with SDLC and change management processes.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Create and maintain technical documentation including configuration records, support procedures, and change logs.
- Contribute to the knowledge base by documenting solutions, known issues, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support training and onboarding of support staff through clear and accessible documentation.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with the Service Owner to identify opportunities for system optimisation and automation.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem management activities.
- Stay current with platform updates and industry best practices relevant to the supported systems.
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience with NetSuite or other Finance ERPs
- 3-5 years’ experience supporting enterprise systems in a technical capacity.
- Strong understanding of system configuration, troubleshooting, and support processes.
- Experience with incident, problem, and change management practices.
- Ability to write clear, structured documentation and contribute to knowledge management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or traditional project delivery environments.
- Desirable:
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management frameworks.
- Exposure to scripting, automation, or integration tools.
- Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments.
- Experience working in fast-paced, scaling environments or transformation programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in IT or related discipline;
- 3-5 years in Technology roles;
- Global or APAC experience a benefit.
