Job Description:

Job Summary

The Senior Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting quality assurance activities for the fabrication and integration of battery energy storage enclosures at a contract manufacturer's facility. This role focuses on executing quality control processes, conducting inspections and audits, supporting corrective actions, and ensuring products meet established quality standards. The position works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance with quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Inspection

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated and assembled products.
• Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Document and report non-conformances and quality concerns.

Process Monitoring

• Support implementation and maintenance of quality control plans and inspection procedures.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to established standards.
• Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Supplier & Contract Manufacturer Support

• Assist in monitoring contract manufacturer quality performance.
• Participate in supplier audits and quality reviews.
• Support containment, corrective, and preventive actions related to supplier quality issues.

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions

• Participate in investigations of quality defects and manufacturing issues.
• Support root cause analysis activities and verification of corrective actions.
• Track corrective action effectiveness and closure.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, quality plans, and audit documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits.

Continuous Improvement

• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Recommend process improvements to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and Kaizen events.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Assist with engineering change implementation and verification activities.
• Communicate quality issues and status updates to stakeholders.

Reporting

• Prepare routine quality metrics and inspection reports.
• Support preparation of quality performance presentations and dashboards.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.

Experience

• 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or quality assurance.
• Experience in metal fabrication, industrial equipment, battery energy storage, or related manufacturing environments preferred.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail and inspection skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, etc.).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting tools.

Knowledge

• Understanding of quality management systems and quality control methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Familiarity with inspection equipment and measurement tools.

Communication

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with contract manufacturers.
• Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or similar certification.
• Knowledge of battery energy storage systems or enclosure fabrication.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
