Head of IT AI & Automation (x|f|m) 

Join our Data, AI and Software Engineering team as a Head of IT AI & Automation (x|f|m) and play a key role in shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Automation across the enterprise. In this role, you will drive the strategic direction of AI and automation, translating emerging technologies into sustainable business value and scalable enterprise capabilities.
You will connect business priorities, technology opportunities and transformation objectives, enabling the organization to leverage AI responsibly and effectively. Working closely with business leaders, IT teams, digital functions and executive stakeholders, you will help establish the foundations for enterprise-wide AI adoption and contribute to better health for more people.
Based in Goettingen with the possibility to work some days in a week remotely.

Grow With Us – Your Responsibilities

• Define the enterprise AI & Automation strategy by evaluating business priorities, transformation opportunities and technology developments and translating them into investment priorities, roadmaps and strategic initiatives
• Scale enterprise AI delivery through shared platforms, reusable AI services and standardized deployment models to accelerate the implementation of AI-enabled solutions across the organization
• Identify, prioritize and advance high-value AI and automation use cases in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders to improve business performance and process efficiency
• Establish and continuously evolve enterprise AI governance through responsible AI principles, risk controls, policies and lifecycle standards to ensure compliant and trustworthy AI adoption
• Safeguard production AI and automation solutions through robust operational models, performance monitoring and lifecycle management practices
• Build alignment across business, digital, data and IT functions and create a shared vision for the successful adoption and scaling of AI capabilities
• Act as a bridge between technology and business stakeholders by translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences
• Advise senior leaders on AI, automation and digital transformation topics and support strategic decision-making through data-driven recommendations and technology expertise
• Drive the development of a future-ready AI operating model and foster innovation to unlock productivity gains, business value and competitive advantage
• Monitor market developments and emerging technologies in Artificial Intelligence and Automation and provide recommendations on their strategic application within the organization

What Will Convince Us

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Informatics or a comparable discipline
• More than 8 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Automation, Machine Learning, Data Science or Software Engineering environments
• Proven experience defining and implementing enterprise AI strategies, responsible AI frameworks and AI operating models
• Strong knowledge of Generative AI, Machine Learning, Intelligent Automation, AI platforms and enterprise deployment practices
• Experience scaling AI platforms, reusable AI services and production AI solutions across complex organizations
• Strong technical expertise with the ability to engage credibly and effectively with engineering, data and IT teams at a deep technical level
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, senior leadership teams and board-level audiences
• Demonstrated success in stakeholder management across functions, organizational levels and global matrix environments
• Strong strategic thinking combined with high cognitive agility and the ability to move seamlessly between technology, operations and business contexts
• Excellent communication, influencing and storytelling skills with the ability to build compelling narratives around transformation, innovation and emerging technologies
• Proactive mindset, strong leadership presence and the ability to drive initiatives forward in a fast-changing environment
• Fluent English
